Preparing in advance can also help you avoid limited inventory and increased demand during major storms.

The right generator depends on what you want to power during an outage. Portable generators in the 2,000 to 3,500-watt range are ideal for charging electronics and powering a few essentials, while 5,000 to 8,000-watt models can operate refrigerators, freezers, lights, and additional household appliances. Larger generators are better suited for more demanding home backup applications.

This collection features portable generators from trusted manufacturers including Firman, DuroMax, and Generac. These brands offer models for everything from camping and tailgating to hurricane preparedness and emergency home backup. Whether you need a compact inverter generator or a higher-output dual fuel model, you'll find dependable options to fit your needs.

Dual fuel generators offer added flexibility by allowing you to operate on either gasoline or propane. Propane stores longer and burns cleaner, making it an excellent choice for hurricane preparedness, while gasoline is widely available and often provides slightly higher power output. Many customers preparing for storm season prefer dual fuel models because they have more fueling options during emergencies.

Yes. Inverter generators provide clean, stable electricity that's safe for sensitive electronics while operating more quietly and efficiently than many conventional generators. They're ideal for powering refrigerators, communication devices, medical equipment, and other essential household items during outages. Larger inverter generators can also support multiple appliances at the same time, depending on their power output.

Many Florida homeowners choose Firman, DuroMax, and Generac because they offer dependable performance during hurricane season and extended power outages. Firman is popular for portable inverter generators, DuroMax is known for its powerful dual fuel models, and Generac is a trusted name for residential backup power. The best choice depends on your power requirements, fuel preference, and intended use.
