The Rich Solar BT-1 Bluetooth Module (RS-BT1) adds wireless monitoring and control to compatible Rich Solar MPPT solar charge controllers. It plugs into the controller's communication port, takes its power through the RJ12 connection, and links to a smartphone app over Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE for fast, stable communication.
Rich Solar lists the BT-1 for its 20A, 30A, 40A and 60A MPPT controller models, including the RS-MPPT20, RS-MPPT40 and RS-MPPT60. The module draws just 0.05W while operating, has an IP67 rating, and comes with a 16.4 ft cable so you can mount it where the signal reaches your phone.
Once connected, the BT-1 lets you monitor and control your compatible charge controller from a user-friendly smartphone app. Check your system without walking to the controller in a bay, cabinet or shed.
Bluetooth 4.0 and BLE technology give fast, uninterrupted communication with low energy use. The communication range is up to 15 m, about 49 feet, depending on walls and obstructions.
The module is powered directly through the RJ12 communication port, so there is no separate power wiring. It accepts 5V to 12V input and uses only 0.04W in standby and 0.05W in operation.
A 5 m (16.4 ft) cable lets you mount the module away from the controller, such as on an inside wall closer to where you spend time, for a better Bluetooth connection.
The module measures 2.6 x 2.01 x 0.61 inches, weighs 4.2 ounces and is rated IP67 against dust and water. Two 3.2 mm mounting holes spaced 57.5 mm apart make it easy to fasten in place.

Versus a controller with built-in Bluetooth. Rich Solar controllers such as the BRAVO 30 have Bluetooth built in and do not need the BT-1. The module is the way to add app monitoring to compatible Rich Solar MPPT controllers that use the RS232 port.
