The ACOPower 10W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel is a compact 10 watt panel built for 12 volt battery charging and small off-grid loads. Its monocrystalline cells produce 17.5V at the maximum power point, which is the right voltage range to charge a 12V lead-acid or lithium battery through a charge controller. The panel measures 11.6 x 11.4 x 0.8 in and weighs 2.2 lbs, so it mounts easily on a roof rack, post, shed or deck rail.
A low-iron tempered glass face, corrosion-resistant aluminum frame and IP65 junction box make it suitable for year-round outdoor use. ACOPower rates the panel to withstand 2400Pa of wind pressure and 5400Pa of snow load.
The panel delivers 10 watts at standard test conditions with an open circuit voltage of 22.0V and an optimum operating current of 0.57A. Monocrystalline cells make good use of limited space.
The IP65 junction box keeps out dust and water, and the anodized aluminum frame resists corrosion. The panel operates from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to 185°F).
The panel is rated for 2400Pa of wind pressure and 5400Pa of snow load, so it can stay outdoors through storms and winter weather.
Pre-drilled holes in the frame fit ACOPower Z brackets, tilt mounts and pole mounts. The attached output leads make it quick to connect to a controller.
Connect several identical panels in parallel to increase charging current while keeping the 12V output, or in series for 24V systems.
Battery maintenance. A 10W panel is well suited to maintaining vehicle and equipment batteries, and running small LED lights or a trail camera.
RVs and boats. Offset the small standby drains from radios, detectors and control boards while in storage.
Farm and ranch. Power electric fences, gate openers and livestock waterer pumps away from grid power.
Learning and DIY. Build a first solar charging system for a shed, garden or school project.
Versus the 15W panel. The 15W model produces more current for larger batteries or loads, in a larger frame.
Versus the 5W panel. The 5W model is smaller and lighter, for lighter maintenance duty.
Mono versus poly. ACOPower's small monocrystalline panels come in 5W, 10W, 20W and 30W sizes, and its polycrystalline panels in 15W, 25W and 35W. Both are designed for 12V charging, so choose by wattage and frame size.
Versus a plug-in battery maintainer. A solar panel needs no outlet, so it works for vehicles, boats and equipment stored away from power.
This may be a good fit if
A charge controller is recommended for battery charging. It prevents overcharging and lets you choose the right profile for your battery. ACOPower's 5A controller kits and the ProteusX 20A both suit panels of this size.
Yes, when it is paired with a charge controller that has a lithium setting.
Yes. Identical panels can be connected in parallel for more current at 12V, or in series for a 24V battery.
Tilting the panel toward the sun at an angle close to your latitude gives good year-round output. Avoid shade, which reduces output sharply.
The ACOPower 10W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel pairs weatherproof construction with an easy-to-mount frame for battery maintenance and small off-grid loads. At Outbound Power, we help customers size panels, controllers and batteries for their projects. If you have questions, our team is happy to help.
