No. The cooler must have a battery inside when a solar panel is connected. Otherwise, the cooler will not work.
Is there anything to be aware of when using the cooler for the first time?
We recommend laying the cooler flat for three hours before turning it on for the first time.
When there is a battery in the cooler, does the external power supply give priority to charging the battery or supplying power to the cooler?

The portable fridge came in about 5 days and was even cheaper than the manufacturers sale price. An employee even called me to make sure that I was satisfied with the product which doesn’t ever happen. As soon as I got it I unboxed it and immediately put it into use. It took about 25 minutes for the unit to get to 30 degrees when I had it set to its lowest setting. I went shopping and 30 minutes later it was at -4f. Even once I filled it up with some frozen and some slightly cool food items it got up to about 15f and dropped back down to -4f within about 60 minutes. Beats the heck out of ice for sure.
As for the company they went above and beyond to earn my future business. I thought something was missing from the box, so I sent an email and they responded within minutes, fortunately it was my mistake and I overlooked a part of the packaging and found the item. So I sent another email saying it was my fault and I had found the item. I really appreciate the service you all provide.
