The Renogy 100W/175W/200W 16BB N-Type Solar Panel Is Sized to Fit Van, SUV and RV Roofs Edge to Edge
The Renogy 100W/175W/200W 16BB N-Type Solar Panel is a rigid, high-efficiency panel offered in three sizes to match common roof dimensions. N-type cells with 16 busbars reach 25% cell efficiency, lose 1% or less of their output in the first year and are warranted to deliver 80% of rated power after 25 years. The 200W size is 7.5% smaller and 11.7% lighter than Renogy's earlier 200W panel, which makes it a natural fit for Class B vans.
Choose the 100W panel for SUVs, small trailers and sheds, the 175W for minivans and mid-size roofs, or the 200W for vans and RVs. The 100W and 175W panels suit 12V battery systems, and the 200W panel, with a 37.44V open circuit voltage, suits 24V systems or 12V systems with an MPPT controller. Each size is available as a single panel or in 2 and 4 packs.
Renogy 16BB N-Type Solar Panel Features
N-Type Cells With 16 Busbars
N-type cells convert more sunlight than conventional PERC cells and hold their output better in heat. Sixteen busbars per cell improve current collection and reduce the effect of microcracks.
Sized for Vehicle Roofs
Panel sizes are matched to common roof dimensions, from Class B vans to SUVs and minivans, for clean coverage without wasted space.
Low Degradation
First-year power loss is 1% or less, and Renogy warrants 80% output at 25 years.
Premium Materials
EVA and POE layers, tempered low-iron glass and a rigid aluminum alloy frame protect the cells through years of travel and weather. Reinforced corners reduce impact damage during installation and transport.
Built for Wind, Snow and Rough Roads
Rated for 2,400Pa wind loads and 5,400Pa snow loads, with an IP65 junction box and IP67 connectors for all-weather use.
Real-World Applications
Camper vans. The 200W panel fits Class B van roofs for strong daily charging.
SUVs, minivans and trailers. The 100W and 175W sizes fit smaller roofs and racks.
RVs and boats. Add panels to keep house batteries charged off-grid.
Homes, cabins and sheds. Build a ground or roof array for backup power or off-grid living.
How It Compares to Common Alternatives
Choosing a size. The 100W is the most compact. The 175W gives more power for mid-size roofs. The 200W delivers the most power per panel and suits 24V systems.
Versus PERC panels. PERC panels cost a little less but produce less in hot weather and degrade faster over time.
Versus flexible panels. Flexible panels are lighter and follow curves, but rigid glass panels run cooler and last longer.
Is This Panel the Right Fit
-
Charge controller. The 100W and 175W panels work with 12V PWM or MPPT controllers. For the 200W panel, use an MPPT controller with at least 40V PV input per panel in parallel, or 40V times the number of panels in series.
-
Roof space. The 100W measures 34.1 x 22.8 inches, the 175W 43.7 x 30.1 inches and the 200W 49.7 x 30.1 inches.
-
Mixing sizes. Avoid wiring different sizes together in series. Use separate strings or controllers.
This may be a good fit if
- You want a rigid panel sized for your vehicle roof
- You want N-type efficiency and low degradation
- You are building or expanding an RV, van or cabin system
- You want the option of single panels or multi-packs
Common Questions
What Does 12V or 24V Mean for a Solar Panel?
It refers to the battery system voltage the panel suits, not its actual output voltage. The panel's voltage must be higher than the battery's to charge it.
How Do I Choose a Controller for the 200W Panel?
With a 37.44V open circuit voltage, the controller's maximum PV input should be at least 40V for single or parallel panels, and at least 40V times the number of panels for series strings.
Why Is My Panel Producing Less Than Rated?
Indirect sunlight, heat, clouds and dirt reduce output. Keep panels clean and free of shade.
