The Renogy 12V Deep Cycle AGM Battery Is a Sealed, Maintenance-Free Choice for Solar, RV and Backup Power in 100Ah or 200Ah

The Renogy 12V 100Ah/200Ah Deep Cycle AGM Battery is one of the most widely used lead-acid batteries for off-grid systems, with more than 230,000 units sold worldwide. Absorbent glass mat construction holds the electrolyte in fiberglass separators, so the battery is sealed, spill-proof and needs no watering. Its stable chemistry and simple operation make it a good fit for solar beginners and budget-conscious systems.

The battery discharges from -4°F to 140°F thanks to an upgraded electrolyte formula, delivers very high short bursts of current (1,100A on the 100Ah and 2,000A on the 200Ah for 5 seconds) and loses less than 3% of its charge per month in storage. Choose 100Ah or 200Ah, in 1, 2 or 4 packs.

Renogy 12V Deep Cycle AGM Battery Features

Sealed and Maintenance-Free

The integrated, sealed design means no watering, no acid spills and no internal troubleshooting. Install it and let your charge controller or charger manage it.

Stable, Safe Chemistry

AGM electrolyte offers high chemical stability, making the battery a simple and safe choice for many applications.

Wide Discharge Temperature Range

The battery discharges from -4°F to 140°F without extra temperature compensation, and it charges from 32°F to 122°F.

High Surge Current

Up to 1,100A (100Ah) or 2,000A (200Ah) for 5 seconds helps start motors and high-surge appliances through an inverter.

Low Self-Discharge

At under 3% per month, the battery holds its charge well between uses and during seasonal storage.

Series and Parallel Connection

Connect up to 4 batteries in parallel and any number in series for 24V, 36V or 48V systems. A battery balancer is recommended for multi-battery banks.

Real-World Applications

Off-grid solar. Store solar energy for sheds, cabins and small homes at a low upfront cost.

RVs and campers. Replace flooded house batteries with a sealed, maintenance-free option.

Home backup. Pair with an inverter or inverter charger to keep essentials running during outages.

Marine and utility. Power trolling motors, electronics and equipment where a sealed battery is preferred.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus flooded lead-acid batteries. Flooded batteries cost a little less but need regular watering, venting and upright mounting. AGM is sealed and maintenance-free.

Versus LiFePO4 batteries. Lithium batteries cost more up front but weigh far less, can use 80% or more of their capacity and last thousands of cycles. AGM costs less to start and has no BMS to manage.

100Ah versus 200Ah. The 100Ah battery is easier to lift and fits standard group-size spaces. The 200Ah battery doubles capacity but weighs about 128 lbs.

Is This Battery the Right Fit

  • Depth of discharge. For best life, do not discharge below 50%. Plan your battery bank with that in mind.
  • Charging. Set your charge controller to SLD (sealed). Cycle use voltage is 14.4V to 14.8V. The 100Ah accepts up to 30A and the 200Ah up to 60A.
  • Weight. The 100Ah weighs 63.9 lbs and the 200Ah weighs 127.9 lbs.
  • Mounting. Install upright when possible. Side mounting is allowed if necessary. Never install upside down.

This may be a good fit if

  • You want a low-cost, proven battery for a solar system
  • You prefer a sealed battery with no BMS or app to manage
  • You need to discharge in cold weather
  • Your system is used occasionally or seasonally

Common Questions

Can I Discharge It to 0%?

It is best not to. Discharging below 50% shortens cycle life. Charge to 100% before storage and recharge every three months.

Can I Mix 100Ah and 200Ah Batteries?

No. Connected batteries should share the same capacity, voltage, type and ideally brand.

Can I Use It in Freezing Weather?

It discharges down to -4°F but should be charged between 32°F and 122°F. Operating outside these ranges shortens battery life.

Is It Compatible With Renogy ONE?

No. Use a 500A battery monitor with shunt, sold separately, to track battery status.
