The EcoFlow Recifier is the only device on the market capable of connecting AC input from a "dirty" 120/240V AC generator or any 120V AC V2L source to charge a Power Station DC battery via the solar DC MPPT inputs. As may YouTube reviews have shown, it works only with EcoFlow Delta Pro inverters. It does not work out-of-the box with many other non EcoFlow Power Stations .
The EcoFlow Rectifier is just a simple rectifier that converts AC input into a full wave rectified sine wave oscillating between 0-DC and mac-DC. When non-EcoFlow power stations like Anker E10 or others or even EcoFlow non Delta-Pro stations receive a full wave rectified sine wave the internal MPPT controller does not charge the power station DC battery. A stable non-oscillating DC voltage is required for most MPPT controllers to accept DC input.
Adding a simple DC capacitor will smooth out the rectified sine wave into a more or less stable DC voltage. Most MPPT controllers will accept this as a stable PV DC input source. A parallel capacitor discharge resistor is needed so the inrush current to the MPPT controller does not exceed its maximum amp rating like 15A on the Anker E10.
A Note of Caution: Do not exceed the MPPT max DC voltage and the MPPT max DC amperage and use a variable AC voltage and a current limiting device for testing.
I can DC charge an Anker E10 from an AC source without the need to disable solar AC coupling, one of the most limiting E10 features. This is a low-cost DC charging solution from any AC input source.
Anker needs to offer a comparable AC-to-DC charging inverter using the existing generator MPPT DC input to stay competitive against the EcoFlow Rectifier solution.
