The Rich Solar BRAVO PRO 40 (RS-MPPT40FB) is a 40A MPPT solar charge controller designed to mount flush in RV, van and vehicle control panels. It automatically detects 12V or 24V systems and is recommended for up to 600W of solar at 12V or 1,200W at 24V, with 99.5% MPPT tracking efficiency and 98% conversion efficiency.
Built-in Bluetooth connects the BRAVO PRO 40 to the RICH SOLAR app for real-time charging status, and it supports GEL, AGM, flooded, LiFePO4, LTO, LCO, crystal and calcium batteries plus a customizable profile. It accepts up to 100V of solar input, weighs 1.8 pounds, and is certified to UL 1741, CE, FCC and RoHS.
Maximum power point tracking at 99.5% efficiency keeps your array at its most productive point, and 98% conversion efficiency sends more of that power to the battery. With 40A of charging current, the BRAVO PRO 40 can recharge a large lithium bank faster than a 30A controller.
The controller integrates cleanly into RV and vehicle control panels, so it sits flush with the wall or cabinet face instead of mounting on the surface. It measures 8.3 x 6.1 x 2.2 inches.
Rich Solar recommends up to 600W of solar at 12V and 1,200W at 24V. The solar input range is 8V to 100V, with an MPPT tracking range of 15V to 72V DC, so you can wire panels in series for long cable runs.
View real-time charging status in the RICH SOLAR app without an extra module. An external digital remote display and an external battery temperature sensor are available as options.
Charging profiles cover GEL, AGM, flooded, LiFePO4, LTO, LCO, crystal and calcium batteries, plus a customizable setting for batteries with specific charging voltages.
Electronic protection guards against over-voltage, reverse polarity, short circuit and over-temperature. Standby current is just 10mA, and the controller is certified to UL 1741, CE, FCC and RoHS.
RVs and fifth wheels. Replace an older flush-mount controller with an MPPT unit that handles up to 600W of roof solar at 12V.
Camper vans. Mount it flush in a cabinet face and monitor charging from the app.
Travel trailers. Pair a larger roof array with a 12V lithium house battery.
Boats. Install the controller in a helm or cabin panel for a tidy setup.
24V systems. Run up to 1,200W of solar on a 24V battery bank in a van, bus or cabin.
Versus the Rich Solar BRAVO 30. The BRAVO 30 is a 30A MPPT controller recommended for up to 500W at 12V. The BRAVO PRO 40 adds 10A more charging current, up to 600W at 12V, and a flush-mount design.
Versus a flush-mount PWM controller. The Rich Solar BRAVO AIR 30 is a flush-mount PWM controller limited to 25V of solar input on 12V systems. The BRAVO PRO 40 accepts up to 100V and converts surplus voltage into current.
Versus the Rich Solar 40 Amp MPPT controller. That model has a die-cast aluminum case and needs the optional BT-1 module for Bluetooth. The BRAVO PRO 40 has Bluetooth built in and mounts flush.
This may be a good fit if
Yes. Bluetooth is built in and works with the RICH SOLAR app.
It is designed for flush mounting in RV and vehicle control panels. Check the opening size against the controller's 8.3 x 6.1 x 2.2 inch dimensions before installing.
Yes. It detects 12V or 24V systems automatically and supports up to 1,200W of solar at 24V.
No. The external battery temperature sensor and digital remote display are optional accessories.
The Rich Solar BRAVO PRO 40 gives RVs, vans and boats 40A of efficient MPPT charging, built-in Bluetooth and broad battery support in a clean flush-mount design. At Outbound Power, we help customers match charge controllers to their panels, batteries and wiring. If you have questions, our team is happy to help.
