The Rich Solar MEGA 200 PRO ONYX 200 Watt 24V Solar Panel Simplifies Higher-Voltage Solar for RVs, Trailers and Cabins

The Rich Solar MEGA 200 PRO ONYX 200 Watt 24V Solar Panel is a rigid 24V off-grid panel that delivers 200W from 60 N-Type TOPCon cells with 18 busbars. It measures 58.7 x 26.8 x 1.2 inches, weighs 24 pounds and is certified to UL 61730, IEC 61215 and CSA C22.2.

With a 36.3V maximum power voltage, the MEGA 200 PRO ONYX is built for systems above 12V. Rich Solar notes that a single high-voltage panel like this can replace two standard panels in those systems, with fewer cables and connection points. Pre-attached 3 ft, 12 AWG leads with MC4 connectors and an IP67 junction box come built in.

Rich Solar MEGA 200 PRO ONYX 200 Watt 24V Solar Panel Features

N-Type TOPCon Cells

Grade A+ N-Type TOPCon cells offer higher efficiency, better low-light performance and ultra-low degradation for a long lifespan. The 0 to +5W power tolerance means each panel delivers at least its rated 200W at standard test conditions.

Strong Low-Light Performance

The panel generates stable power on cloudy days and in early morning light. The 3.2 mm AR-coated, high-transparency tempered glass maximizes sunlight capture and durability.

Fewer Panels, Simpler Wiring

For systems above 12V, Rich Solar says one high-voltage panel can replace two standard panels. That means fewer connection points and faster installs for off-grid homes, RVs and larger arrays.

Built for All Weather

The panel is rated for 5,400 Pa snow loads and 2,400 Pa wind loads and operates from -40°F to 185°F. The sealed IP67 junction box and IP67 MC4 connectors protect against dust and water, and the anodized aluminum frame resists corrosion.

Rigorous Testing

Rich Solar runs more than 30 in-house tests, including UV exposure, thermal cycling and humidity freeze. Every panel is PID resistant and 100% EL inspected to prevent microcracks.

Effortless Installation

Fourteen pre-drilled mounting holes fit Z brackets, tilt mounts, pole mounts and ground mounts. The panel works with PWM and MPPT controllers and with on-grid and off-grid inverters.

25-Year Output Warranty

Rich Solar backs the panel with a 25-year limited power output warranty and a 10-year workmanship warranty. For MEGA Series panels, output is rated at more than 95% after 5 years, 90% after 10 years and 80% after 25 years.

Real-World Applications

RVs and trailers. Run a higher-voltage array on the roof with fewer panels and connections.

Cabins and sheds. Charge a 24V battery bank for lights, pumps and appliances.

Boats. Rich Solar lists boats among the uses for this panel.

Off-grid homes and larger arrays. Build out a high-wattage system with matched 24V panels.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus two 12V 100W panels. For systems above 12V, Rich Solar says one high-voltage panel can replace two standard panels, which cuts cables and connection points.

Versus a 12V 200W panel. A 12V 200W panel has the same footprint but runs at lower voltage and higher current. The MEGA 200 PRO ONYX runs at 36.3V and 5.51A, which suits 24V systems and MPPT controllers.

Versus the MEGA 200 PRO. Both are 24V 200W panels that share a Rich Solar spec sheet. The MEGA 200 PRO ONYX is the ONYX version.

Is This Panel the Right Fit

  • System voltage. This panel is built for systems above 12V. Use a controller rated for its 43.5V open circuit voltage.
  • Wiring. Stay within your controller's input voltage and current limits when wiring panels in series or parallel.
  • Fusing. The maximum series fuse rating is 15A, and the maximum system voltage is 1000VDC.
  • Space. Plan for 58.7 x 26.8 inches and 24 pounds per panel.

This may be a good fit if

  • You run a 24V system or a high-voltage MPPT controller
  • You want fewer panels and simpler wiring for the same power
  • You want UL certification and a 25-year output warranty
  • You are building an RV, cabin or off-grid home array

Common Questions

Do I Need an Inverter to Charge My Battery?

No. You only need a charge controller to charge a battery. An inverter is needed only if you want to run AC appliances from the battery.

Can the Panel Drain My Battery at Night?

Not when a solar charge controller is installed. The controller prevents reverse current from draining the battery.

Will It Work in Winter?

Yes. Cooler conditions can improve solar panel performance. Keep the panel clear of snow, dirt and shade, since buildup will stop it from generating power.

How Long Will the Panel Last?

Rich Solar rates MEGA Series panels to output more than 95% of rated power after 5 years, 90% after 10 years and 80% after 25 years.
