The kit also includes an oil funnel, a chamois, and a reminder sticker. The funnel keeps the oil fill clean, the chamois wipes up drips, and the sticker helps you keep track of when the next service is due.
8kW Unit Service. Your 8 kW generator, such as model 6237, 6245, or 6251, has reached its service interval. This kit gives you the full set of parts.
9kW and 10kW Owners. Generac's 2020 sheet added 9 kW and 10 kW models to this kit. If you own model 7029, 7030, 7171, or 7172, it is your kit too.
Next-Gen 10kW Owners. Generac lists the 6482 on the Next-Gen 10 kW spec sheet. The larger Next-Gen units, 14 kW to 28 kW, use kit 7216 instead.
Setting Up a Service Schedule. Buy a kit for your next service in advance. Generac advises service every 200 hours or 2 years, and more often in dusty or dirty places.
Versus Kits for Older Units. Generac lists this kit for units made from 2013 on and says to contact a dealer for older models. It also covers 9 kW and 10 kW models, not only 8 kW.
Versus Buying Parts Separately. With a filter, plug, and funnel bought one at a time, you check each against three possible kW sizes. This kit is already matched to the listed models.
