The Rich Solar 100 Amp Power Converter Charges 12V Batteries and Powers DC Systems From 120V Shore or Utility Power

The Rich Solar 100 Amp Power Converter (RS-PC100) is a 120V AC to 12V DC converter and battery charger that delivers up to 100A of continuous output, or 1,460W, for RVs, trailers, campers and off-grid systems. It converts shore power, a generator or utility power into regulated DC power to charge a 12V battery bank and run 12V DC loads.

A three-stage output automatically steps between 14.6V, 13.6V and 13.2V for charging and maintenance. Typical efficiency is above 85%, a proportional cooling fan adjusts to load and temperature, and reverse polarity, overload and thermal protection guard both the converter and the battery. Rich Solar lists the RS-PC100 as UL 458 certified.

Rich Solar 100 Amp Power Converter Features

100A of Continuous Charging

The converter delivers up to 100A of continuous DC current. That is enough to recharge a large 12V lithium or lead-acid bank quickly when you plug in at a campground or run a generator.

Three-Stage Output Voltage

Output automatically shifts between approximately 14.6V, 13.6V and 13.2V. The higher voltage charges the battery, and the lower voltages hold and maintain it once it is full.

Efficient Power Conversion

Typical efficiency is above 85%, and maximum continuous output power is 1,460W. The converter draws up to 15A from the 120V AC supply.

Proportional Cooling Fan

The cooling fan speeds up and slows down based on load and temperature, which keeps the converter cool under heavy charging and quieter at light loads.

Built-In Protection

Reverse polarity, overload and thermal protection help prevent damage to the converter and your battery bank from wiring mistakes or excess load.

Plug-and-Play Installation

The RS-PC100 is designed for simple installation in RV, trailer, camper and off-grid electrical systems, and it provides stable DC power for compatible 12V DC equipment.

Real-World Applications

RV converter replacement. Upgrade an older, lower-output converter to recharge a large house battery faster on shore power.

Travel trailers and fifth wheels. Charge the house bank while plugged in at a campsite or storage lot.

Generator charging. Turn generator run time into fast 12V battery charging.

Off-grid cabins. Charge a 12V battery bank from a generator during cloudy stretches.

12V DC power supply. Run 12V lights, fans and pumps from 120V AC.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus a typical RV converter. Many factory converters are rated well below 100A. The RS-PC100's 100A output shortens recharge time for larger battery banks.

Versus an inverter charger. An inverter charger also makes AC power from the battery, but it costs more and is more complex. The RS-PC100 focuses on AC to DC charging and DC power only.

Versus a portable battery charger. Portable chargers are typically lower output and not built for permanent RV installation. The RS-PC100 delivers 1,460W of continuous DC power.

Is This Converter the Right Fit

  • Battery voltage. The converter charges 12V batteries. Confirm that a 14.6V charging stage suits your battery type.
  • AC supply. It draws up to 15A at 120V AC, so account for it with other loads on your shore power or generator.
  • Battery bank size. A 100A charger suits large banks. Check your battery's maximum charge current before installing.
  • Cabling. Use DC cables and fusing rated for 100A between the converter and battery.

This may be a good fit if

  • You want faster shore-power charging for a 12V house battery
  • You are replacing an underpowered RV converter
  • You charge from a generator and want to shorten run time
  • You need a stable 12V DC supply from 120V AC

Common Questions
