The SunGold Power 15KW 48V Split Phase Inverter is a low frequency, pure sine wave inverter charger in SunGold's LF-PV series. It delivers 15000 watts of continuous 120/240 volt split phase power from a 48 volt battery bank, with a 45000 watt surge rating for 20 seconds. A built-in 100 amp charger and automatic transfer switch let it work alongside the grid or a 240V generator.
It is designed for large off-grid homes, ranches, shops, and businesses that need to start and run big motors such as central air conditioners, well pumps, and compressors. Solar charging is handled by separate charge controllers, since this model does not include MPPT.
A heavy-duty low frequency transformer allows a 45000 watt surge for 20 seconds, giving the inverter the reserve to start multiple large motor loads while carrying the rest of the house.
The inverter feeds a standard split phase panel with both 120V and 240V circuits. Balance 120V loads between the two legs for the best performance.
With 240VAC input, the charger delivers up to 100 amps (±5A), adjustable from 0 to 100 percent. Power factor correction helps it work efficiently with generators, and 8 battery type settings include LiFePO4, gel, AGM, and lead acid.
Transfer between utility and battery is typically 8ms (10ms max). When AC returns, a 15 second delay before transfer protects loads while a generator stabilizes.
AGS can start a generator when batteries run low, and AC or battery priority lets you decide which source carries the load first.
A remote control and battery temperature sensor cable are included. Idle consumption is 45 watts with power saver on and 225 watts with it off.
Large off-grid homes. Run central HVAC, well pumps, and kitchen appliances from a 48V lithium bank.
Farms, ranches, and shops. Power 240V pumps, compressors, and equipment with strong surge capacity.
Whole-home backup. Carry a full split phase panel through extended outages.
Generator-assisted systems. Use AGS with a 240V generator to keep a large battery bank charged.
Versus the 12KW model. The 15KW unit adds 3000 watts of continuous output and 9000 watts of surge, while the 12KW model has a slightly higher 115 amp charger.
Versus the 18KW model. The 18KW version adds more output again for the largest loads.
Versus hybrid solar inverters. This model has no built-in MPPT, so solar panels need separate charge controllers. SunGold also notes two units cannot be combined for more output.
