The SunGold Power 18KW 48V Split Phase Inverter delivers 18000 watts of continuous 120/240 volt pure sine wave power from a 48 volt battery bank, with a 54000 watt surge rating for 20 seconds. It combines a low frequency inverter, a 95 amp battery charger, and an automatic transfer switch in one unit, ready to work with the grid or a 240V generator.
It is built for the biggest split phase loads in SunGold's lineup, such as large homes with central air, farms and ranches with deep well pumps, and commercial spaces with heavy equipment. Solar charging requires separate charge controllers, because this model does not include MPPT.
The low frequency transformer design provides a 300 percent surge for 20 seconds. That headroom lets the inverter start large motors while still powering lighting, appliances, and electronics.
Two 120V legs and 240V across them let the inverter feed a standard residential or light commercial panel. Balance 120V loads across both legs.
The built-in charger delivers up to 95 amps (±5A) from 240VAC input through a 100A charger breaker. Battery type settings include LiFePO4, gel, AGM, and lead acid.
Typical transfer time is 10ms max. AC input range is selectable at 184 to 253VAC or 140 to 270VAC, and input frequency is auto-detected at 50 or 60Hz.
Like the rest of the LF-PV series, this inverter supports automatic generator start and AC or battery priority operation.
A remote control and battery temperature sensor cable are included. Idle consumption is 50 watts with power saver on and 270 watts with it off.
Large off-grid homes. Run central HVAC, well pumps, and full kitchens from a 48V bank.
Farms and ranches. Power large pumps, barn equipment, and shop tools.
Commercial backup. Keep refrigeration, lighting, and operations running during outages.
Generator-assisted systems. Use AGS with a 240V generator to maintain a large battery bank.
Versus the 15KW model. The 18KW adds 3000 watts of continuous output and 9000 watts of surge. The 15KW has a slightly larger 100 amp charger.
Versus the 12KW model. The 12KW is lighter at 160 pounds and has a 115 amp charger, but provides 6000 fewer watts of output.
Versus hybrid solar inverters. This model has no built-in MPPT. Use separate solar charge controllers.
