The SunGold Power 3kW 12VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit is a 12V solar system built around a 3000W low-frequency pure sine wave inverter charger. Six 100W monocrystalline panels charge the batteries through a separate 60A MPPT solar charge controller, and two 12V LiFePO4 batteries store the energy. The kit adds a 300A DC breaker, battery and inverter cabling, Z-brackets and 50 feet of solar extension cable.
It is sized for RVs, vans, small cabins and backup circuits where a 12V battery bank makes sense. You choose the bank size: two 100Ah batteries or two 200Ah batteries. Both options have Bluetooth monitoring, an LCD and self-heating for cold weather.
The LFP Series inverter delivers 3000W of continuous 120VAC pure sine wave power and a 9000W surge for 20 seconds. It combines an inverter, a battery charger and an AC auto-transfer switch in one unit, so it can also recharge the bank from grid or generator power at up to 90A.
Solar power reaches the batteries through a SunGold 60A MPPT controller. It auto-detects 12V, 24V and 48V systems, accepts up to 250V of open-circuit PV voltage, and is rated for 800W of panels on a 12V bank. The 600W array fits inside that limit, and built-in Bluetooth lets you check charging data from a phone.
Choose two 12V 100Ah batteries (1280Wh each) or two 12V 200Ah batteries (2560Wh each). Each battery has a built-in BMS that guards against overcharging, over-discharging, overcurrent, short circuits and high temperature. SunGold rates the cells for 4000+ deep cycles.
The batteries start warming themselves when the core temperature drops below 33.8°F (1°C) and stop at 42.8°F (6°C). That helps keep the bank ready to charge through cold seasons.
The inverter can start a generator when battery voltage runs low and turn it off once charging is finished. That is useful when a cloudy stretch outlasts the battery bank.
AC priority is the default, and a switch on the unit changes it to battery priority. Transfer time is 10ms, and the inverter adds an LCD and a GFCI outlet. Charge current can be dialed from 0% to 100%, with 9 battery type settings.
RVs and vans. Run a fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker and electronics from a 12V lithium bank, then recharge from solar or a generator.
Small off-grid cabins. Power lights, small appliances and tools at a weekend cabin with no utility service.
Home backup. The built-in transfer switch lets the inverter carry selected 120V circuits when the grid goes down.
Sheds and workshops. Add 120V outlets to an outbuilding without trenching a new utility line.
Versus an all-in-one inverter with built-in MPPT. Here the solar controller and the inverter are separate units, each with its own display. The low-frequency inverter is rated for a 300% surge for 20 seconds, which helps with tools and motor starts.
Versus the 2 x 200Ah option. The 200Ah batteries double the stored energy to 2560Wh each and raise the maximum continuous charge current from 100A to 150A. Each one weighs 48.5LB, against 22.7LB for a 100Ah battery.
Versus a gas generator alone. Solar and batteries supply quiet power day to day, and the inverter's auto generator start brings a generator in only when the batteries run low.
