The SunGold Power 8kW 48VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit (SGR-8K10E family) is built around an 8000W 48V split phase solar inverter and eight 450W bifacial N-type panels. SunGold estimates the array generates about 14.4kWh of solar energy per day with 4 hours of full sunlight.
You choose how the energy is stored: two SG48100P server rack batteries (10.24kWh), one SG48200T wall-mounted battery (10.24kWh) or one PowerMax 314 outdoor battery (16.07kWh). Each option includes the mounting brackets, solar extension cables, PV and battery breakers and cabling SunGold lists for it, for homes, cabins and backup systems.
The SPH8048P supplies 8000W of 120V/240V split phase or single phase output with a 16000W peak. It is UL 1741 listed by ETL for off-grid solar systems and communicates with the batteries over RS485.
The SGN-450-BDG5 panels have 22.5% module efficiency and dual glass construction. Their rear side can harvest up to 30% more energy when it sees reflected light, such as on a ground mount or flat roof.
The eight panels run as one series string into one MPPT input through the 25A PV breaker. The inverter has two MPPT inputs and accepts up to 11000W of PV, so a second string can be added later.
Two 51.2V 100Ah batteries give 10.24kWh in a 3U rack format. Each is rated for 7000+ cycles and up to a 15-year lifespan, and SunGold supports up to 63 units in parallel.
One 51.2V 200Ah battery holds 10.24kWh in a single cabinet that mounts on a wall or stands on the floor. It has a touch-screen display, a 140A max charge current and a rating of over 8000 cycles.
The PowerMax 51.2V 314Ah battery raises storage to 16.07kWh, with 15.42kWh usable. Its IP65 enclosure is rated for indoor and outdoor installation, and it supports 7.68kW of continuous discharge.
Combined solar and AC charging reaches up to 180A, so a generator can top up the batteries on cloudy days. Wi-Fi monitoring is included, and up to six inverters can be paralleled for 48000W.
Off-grid cabins. Run 120V and 240V loads from solar with 10.24kWh or 16.07kWh in reserve.
Home backup. Keep essential circuits running through outages while the panels recharge the battery.
Outdoor battery sites. Choose the PowerMax option when there is no indoor room for the battery.
Ground-mounted arrays. Put the bifacial panels where their rear side can collect reflected light.
Versus buying the inverter alone. SunGold also sells the 8kW inverter on its own or with batteries. This kit adds the panels, brackets, breakers and cables.
Versus monofacial panels. Bifacial panels can add energy from the rear side, which standard panels cannot collect.
Versus separate charge controllers. The inverter, two MPPT controllers and the AC charger share one unit and one display.
