The AIMS Power 3000 Watt 48 Volt Rack Mount Pure Sine Inverter Keeps Critical Equipment Running With Seamless Automatic Transfer

The AIMS Power 3000 Watt 48 Volt Rack Mount Pure Sine Inverter is a 2U rack mount power solution built to keep essential equipment running without interruption. It delivers clean, stable 120 volt AC pure sine wave power from a 48 volt DC source, making it ideal for sensitive electronics, IT hardware, networking gear, telecom racks, and industrial systems. An integrated 30 amp transfer switch bypasses utility power when it is available and switches to your battery bank when it is not, with a transfer time of 16 to 18 milliseconds. A built-in RS232 port lets you monitor performance from a PC.

AIMS Power 3000 Watt 48 Volt Rack Mount Pure Sine Inverter Features

2U Rack Mount Design for Server Rooms and Telecom Racks

The 2U rack mount form factor fits standard equipment racks, keeping your backup power organized alongside the equipment it protects.

Integrated 30 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch

When utility power is available, the system automatically bypasses the inverter. When utility power fails, the inverter switches to your DC backup source in 16 to 18 milliseconds (program controlled), so connected equipment keeps operating with minimal disruption. AC output and bypass are protected by a 34 amp breaker.

3000 Watts Continuous and 6000 Watts Surge of Clean Pure Sine Power

Pure sine wave output with 91% efficiency powers sensitive electronics, while a 6000 watt surge rating supports startup loads.

RS232 Remote Monitoring and Digital Status Display

Monitor DC input voltage, AC output voltage, output frequency, and AC current from a PC through the RS232 port. A toggle digital status display shows the same metrics on the front panel.

Comprehensive Protection and Smart Cooling

  • Low battery warning and shutdown (40.6V), with recovery at 42.5V
  • High battery shutdown (61V), with power return at 59V
  • Overload protection and indicator, short circuit and AC output short circuit protection
  • Over temperature protection with indicator
  • Thermal and load-based fan
  • FCC Class B

Real-World Applications

Server rooms and IT closets. Keep servers, storage, and networking equipment online through outages.

Telecom racks. Provide clean AC backup from a 48 volt battery system.

Industrial control systems. Protect PLCs, monitoring equipment, and other mission-critical loads.

Security and communications. Maintain power to cameras, radios, and access control systems.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus desktop UPS units. Typical UPS units have limited internal batteries. This inverter runs as long as your external DC battery bank has sufficient voltage, making extended runtimes possible.

Versus standalone inverters. Built-in transfer switching and rack mounting make this a cleaner, more integrated solution for equipment racks.

Versus lower-voltage models. A 48 volt input draws less current than 12 or 24 volt designs for the same output, reducing cable size in the rack.

Is This Rack Mount Inverter the Right Fit

  • Input polarity. This is not a -48VDC input model. For -48V telecom systems, AIMS Power says it must connect directly to the battery bank or a positive 48VDC system, bypassing the power supply.
  • DC input range. It operates from 41 to 60 volts DC.
  • Runtime. Backup runtime depends on your battery bank capacity and load.
  • Space and weight. It weighs 27.6 pounds and measures 20.9" x 16.5" x 3.5".

This may be a good fit if

  • You need rack-mounted backup power for IT, telecom, or industrial equipment
  • You have a positive 48 volt DC battery system
  • You want automatic transfer and PC-based monitoring
  • Your critical loads total 3000 watts or less

Common Questions

Can I Use It With a -48V Telecom System?

It is not a -48VDC input model. AIMS Power notes it must be connected directly to the battery bank or a positive 48VDC system, bypassing the power supply.

How Fast Is the Transfer?

Transfer switch time is 16 to 18 milliseconds, program controlled.

What Can I Monitor?

Through RS232, you can monitor DC input voltage, AC output voltage, frequency, and AC current from a PC.

What Warranty Does It Carry?

AIMS Power provides a 2 year warranty against manufacturer defects and lifetime tech support.
