The AIMS Power Battery Voltage Regulator for 12V DC Systems is engineered to safely charge lithium batteries from an alternator. Standard alternators are not designed specifically for lithium charging, and without proper voltage control they can overcharge lithium batteries, reduce their lifespan or trigger a BMS shutdown. This solid-state regulator continuously monitors incoming DC voltage and automatically disconnects when voltage moves outside the safe operating range, protecting your lithium battery bank from overcharging and from high voltage and current spikes. It is available in 100 amp (LFP12V100AREG) and 200 amp (LFP12V200AREG) versions, has no charging time limits for large battery banks, installs with a simple 2 wire design and is backed by a 3 year warranty with lifetime tech support.
The regulator continuously monitors alternator output and controls charging to protect lithium batteries, whether the vehicle runs for 1 hour or 20 hours.
It supplies power within 9.4 to 14.4 volts and disconnects the battery from the alternator or other power source below 9.2 volts or above 14.6 volts. It also protects lithium batteries from high voltage and current spikes from the charging source.
Once voltage returns to the 9.4 to 14.4 volt range, the regulator automatically resets after a 2 minute delay and resumes normal operation.
Above the rated current, the regulator disconnects after 1 minute. At 125% of rating it disconnects after 10 seconds, and at 150% of rating it disconnects immediately.
With no time limits, the regulator can charge large battery banks during long drive shifts and all-day commercial operation.
The unit also isolates loads when voltage falls outside safe parameters, helping protect the vehicle's starting battery and connected electronics from unstable charging conditions.
A compact, solid-state design with a dedicated main battery port installs easily in common 12 volt applications, including vehicles, wind, hydro and other DC systems. AIMS Power notes the port labeled alternator should not be connected directly to the alternator.

Versus the AIMS Power BATISO300 isolator. AIMS Power recommends the regulator when charging lithium from the alternator and starter battery, the BATISO300 to keep the starter battery full while discharging auxiliary batteries with the vehicle off, and both together when you need both functions. AIMS Power offers both as KIT-ISOREG.
