The AIMS Power Vehicle Ignition/Toggle Relay Switch for Power Inverters lets you power a compatible AIMS Power inverter automatically using your vehicle's ignition or any external trigger switch. When the vehicle starts, the inverter turns on. When the ignition is off, the inverter shuts down. That hands-free operation adds convenience and helps prevent unnecessary battery drain in work trucks, service vehicles, RVs, fleet installations and other mobile power setups. It is compatible with 12, 24, 36 or 48 volt DC systems and includes an RJ9 cable for connection to the inverter's remote port.
The relay uses your vehicle's ignition signal to switch the inverter, so it turns on when the vehicle starts and shuts down when the ignition is off. No one has to remember to switch the inverter manually.
Beyond ignition control, you may use a trigger switch connected to ports B and C, as shown in the AIMS Power wiring diagram. That allows remote or trigger-based inverter control for custom installations.
Because the inverter shuts down with the ignition, it is less likely to be left running and discharging your batteries after the vehicle is parked.
The relay works across common vehicle and mobile system voltages, making it suitable for a wide range of AIMS Power inverter installations.
An RJ9 cable is included for connection to the inverter, and it can be extended up to 15 feet if you need a longer run. Mounting screws are included, and AIMS Power recommends 18 AWG wire for the trigger connections. The compact unit measures 3 1/4" wide x 3" long x 1 1/4" high and weighs 10 ounces.
