RV5 solar wiring parts including MC4 Y cables, a circuit breaker enclosure and a cable gland

The BLUETTI RV5 Solar Panel Wiring Pack Connects Your Solar Array to the RV5 PV Input

The BLUETTI RV5 Solar Panel Wiring Pack is the wiring set for bringing solar panels into the RV5 5-in-1 power hub. It follows the solar wiring BLUETTI describes in the RV5 manual, with MC4 connections at the panels and a circuit breaker ahead of the PV input.

It's for RV, van and off-grid builders adding a PV100 FX or other solar array to an RV5 and wanting BLUETTI's own wiring.

BLUETTI RV5 Solar Panel Wiring Pack Features

MC4 Adapter Cables

BLUETTI's RV5 wiring uses two 1-to-2 MC4 adapter cables, one red and one black. The MC4 end connects to the MC4 interface of the PV100 FX, and the other end goes to the PV input circuit breaker.

Circuit Breaker on the PV Input

The manual recommends a circuit breaker that meets the PV input specifications to avoid sparks. For the solar charging cable it lists a circuit breaker of 60A or more. A short wire then connects the breaker to the RV5's PV1 port, red for positive and black for negative.

Two PV Inputs

The RV5 has two DC inputs, PV1 and PV2. Each supports up to 50A and 1,800W, for 3,600W in total. PV2's input source must be set in the BLUETTI app.

Real-World Applications

RV rooftop solar. Connect a PV100 FX array to an RV5 install.

Scaling the array. BLUETTI's RV5 manual gives series-parallel layouts for 4, 8 and 16 PV100 FX panels, which total 400W, 800W and 1,600W.

Practical Comparison

Wiring Pack Versus Piecing Together Connectors

Assembling MC4 adapters, a breaker and wire yourself means checking each part's rating. A wiring pack follows the layout BLUETTI shows for the RV5.

Buyer Guidance

Panel Limits

BLUETTI says your panels must meet these requirements for each RV5 input: open-circuit voltage of 12V to 50V, current of 50A maximum and power of 1,800W maximum. Do not ground the solar panels' positive and negative terminals. Do not charge the RV5 from a vehicle cigarette lighter port.

This May Be A Good Fit If

  • You are adding solar to an RV5 system
  • Your panels, such as the PV100 FX, have MC4 connectors
  • You want a breaker between the array and the RV5

Common Questions

Does It Work With the PV100 FX?

BLUETTI's RV5 manual shows this solar wiring with PV100 FX panels.

How Many Panels Can I Connect?

It depends on your layout and the RV5's limits of 50A and 1,800W per input. BLUETTI's manual shows 4, 8 or 16 PV100 FX panels.

Do I Need Anything Else?

You need your solar panels. A circuit breaker rated to the PV input specifications is part of BLUETTI's wiring layout.
