The BougeRV 12V 400W ShadePower Yuma CIGS Punched Flexible Solar Kit is a complete 12V system with two thin-film panels made for mechanical fastening. It includes two Yuma 200W CIGS flexible panels with pre-punched holes, a Sunflow 40A MPPT solar charge controller, two 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries and a 2000W 12V pure sine wave inverter.
The punched panels suit owners who want to secure their solar with hardware through the panel border, on an RV, trailer, boat or overland rig. At 5.95 lbs each, the two panels add 11.9 lbs to the roof. You add the fasteners, fuses and cables that suit your installation.
Each Yuma panel has holes punched through its border, so you can fasten it to your mounting surface with hardware you choose. Each panel measures 82.8 x 27.1 x 0.06 inches.
The CIGS cells sit on a 50 μm stainless steel foil with no glass, so each panel weighs only 5.95 lbs. BougeRV lists a walkable flexible design and rates the cells for 360° flexibility.
Each panel uses 24 individual bypass diodes, so shaded cells are bypassed and the rest of the panel keeps working. BougeRV also lists more power in low light among the panel's key features.
BougeRV rates the panels, their solar connectors and junction boxes IP68, with 2400 Pa wind resistance and a 5400 Pa snow load. Operating temperature limits are -40°F to +185°F, and each panel has a 10A series fuse rating.
The 12V/24V controller handles up to 600W of solar at 12V and up to 100V of PV input. Its manual lists MPPT tracking efficiency above 99% and charging conversion efficiency above 95%. It has three working modes, eight protections and an app with a 33 ft range for monitoring.
Two 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries store 1280Wh each and are rated for 4000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge. The 2000W pure sine wave inverter delivers 4000W peak for one second, with a 15A and a 20A AC output terminal and an 18W USB port.
RV roofs. Fasten two panels to the roof and charge a 12V 200Ah battery bank through the MPPT controller.
Boats. Secure the light, glass-free panels on a deck and keep producing when rigging shades part of the array.
Trailers and overland rigs. Run 120VAC devices at camp from stored solar energy through the 2000W inverter.
Off-grid cabins. Fasten the panels to a curved or uneven roof section and power lights and small appliances.
An adhesive-backed panel sticks down without holes and is a permanent installation. These punched panels are fastened through their borders, so you control the attachment method and hardware.
Rigid glass panels need frames and brackets, add weight and can't bend. These CIGS panels weigh 5.95 lbs each, are 0.06 inches thick and bend to fit curved surfaces. Rigid panels can be tilted toward the sun, which may suit a flat rack or ground mount.
One 100Ah battery suits a smaller system. Two batteries in parallel form a 12V 200Ah bank, according to BougeRV's battery manual, for more stored energy between sunny days.
BougeRV lists these as purchased separately: solar panel mounting brackets, MC4 fuses, MC4 extension cables, an MC4 crimping tool, controller-to-battery cables, battery-to-inverter cables and a battery-to-inverter fuse or breaker. BougeRV doesn't specify fasteners for the punched panels, so choose hardware suited to your surface.
Charge each battery to 13.4V or higher before use and let paralleled batteries rest 12 to 24 hours before charging or discharging. Connect the battery to the controller before the panels, set the battery type to LiFePO4, and keep the array within the controller's 100V input and 40A rating. Check inverter polarity carefully, since its input has no reverse connection protection, and fit a DC fuse or breaker rated at 2 to 2.5 times the inverter's rated input current within 150 mm of the battery.
Maximum power is 200W at 17% cell efficiency. Vmp is 24V, Imp is 8.52A, Voc is 30.4V and Isc is 9.48A, each ±5%, with a 1000V DC max system voltage.
BougeRV shows it working with flooded, gel, AGM, sealed and lithium batteries in 12V or 24V systems. This kit's LiFePO4 batteries use the lithium setting.
No. Each battery stops charging at 32°F (0°C) and resumes once it warms to 35.6°F (2°C).
BougeRV lists a 10-year warranty and a 25-year performance warranty for the panels, 5 years for the batteries and 18 months for the inverter.
BougeRV's inverter manual lists these accessories with the 2000W inverter: two 3 ft 2AWG battery-inverter cables, a 3.2 ft ground cable, a wrench, a 19.6 ft remote control, the product manual and replacement fuses.
The BougeRV 12V 400W ShadePower Yuma CIGS Punched Flexible Solar Kit pairs two pre-punched, glass-free 200W panels with a Sunflow 40A MPPT controller, two 1280Wh LiFePO4 batteries and a 2000W pure sine wave inverter. If you'd like help choosing fasteners, fuses and cables for your build, the Outbound Power team is happy to help.
