The BougeRV CRS 63QT 12 Volt Portable Car Fridge is the 63 quart single-zone model in BougeRV's CRS line. It holds 63.2 quarts (60 liters, 2.12 cu. ft.), which BougeRV says fits 86 cans, and it sets anywhere from -4°F to 68°F. It rolls on two wheels with a pull handle and runs on 12V or 24V DC or 100-240V AC.
It's a fit for families, RV travelers and anyone packing food for a long road trip or an off-grid stay. The extra room lets you carry more food between stops, and BougeRV's app lets you check on it from your phone.
The cabinet measures 20.1 x 12.6 x 17.2 in inside. BougeRV rates it for 86 cans, 36 one-liter bottles or 16 two-liter bottles, and a removable wire basket comes in the box for smaller items.
As a single-zone fridge, the whole cabinet holds the temperature you set. Run it as a freezer below 0°F for ice cream and frozen food, or as a fridge for drinks and fresh food.
With an empty cabinet in MAX mode, BougeRV rates it to cool from 77°F to 32°F in 15 minutes and from 77°F to -4°F in 50 minutes. The rated power input is 60W, and BougeRV lists ECO mode at 45W.
The fridge weighs 41.7 lb empty, and it gets heavier once it's loaded. Two wheels at one end and a pull handle at the other let you roll it instead of lifting it.
Adjust the temperature and monitor the fridge from your phone with BougeRV's app, within a control range BougeRV lists as 32 ft. On the panel, hold the settings button for 2 seconds to step through MAX/ECO mode, battery protection and °F/°C.
The lid can be turned around to open from either side, so you can reach in from whichever side is easier. The cabinet also has a drain hole and latches that hold the lid closed.
On 12V, the fridge cuts out at 11.1V, 10.4V or 9.6V depending on the level you choose, and on 24V at 24.3V, 22.8V or 21.3V. It restarts two minutes after the voltage recovers to the cut-in level.
Family camping. Pack meals, drinks and frozen food for everyone in one fridge and roll it to the campsite.
Long RV trips. Add fridge or freezer space to your RV, running on 12V or 24V while you drive or on AC at camp.
Off-grid stays. Run it from a portable power station's DC or AC outlet when you're away from hookups.
At home. Use the AC adapter to run it as an extra freezer for holidays or bulk shopping.
A large ice cooler loses room to ice and needs refilling as it melts. The CRS 63QT keeps all 60 liters for food and holds the temperature you set with a compressor, as long as it has DC, AC or battery power.
A dual-zone fridge splits its cabinet into two compartments with separate settings. The CRS 63QT is single zone, so the whole 60 liters runs as either a fridge or a freezer at one time. If you want one large space at a single temperature, single zone keeps it simple.
The fridge measures 28.0 x 19.6 x 22.2 in. Leave at least 7.9 in of space behind it and 3.9 in at the sides for ventilation, and keep it level, with less than 5° of tilt for long-term running. BougeRV lists an outside temperature range of 50°F to 122°F for use. Keep it out of the rain.
Use the DC cord in a car, truck or power station, or the AC adapter at an outlet. BougeRV recommends High battery protection on a vehicle starter battery or an added battery such as a power station, and suggests switching the fridge off or unplugging it when the engine is off. BougeRV also lists a 12-50V solar input, so ask our team about connecting a panel before you count on it.
Let it sit flat, lid on top, for 12 hours after unpacking before you power it on. Clean the inside and outside with a damp cloth first.
Yes. As long as the power supply is maintained, BougeRV says it can run 24 hours a day like a home fridge.
No. Once it reaches your setting, it stops for about 10 minutes while the temperature rises about 3 to 5°C, then runs for about 15 minutes to bring it back down.
BougeRV doesn't recommend it. The walls are filled with foam for insulation rather than solid plastic, and long periods of weight can deform them.
BougeRV lists a 2-year warranty for this fridge.
The BougeRV CRS 63QT 12 Volt Portable Car Fridge gives you 60 liters of single-zone fridge or freezer space, a -4°F to 68°F range, app control, a reversible lid and wheels with a pull handle, on 12V, 24V or AC power. If you're sizing a power station for it or comparing it with the 42QT, the Outbound Power team is happy to help.
