The BougeRV Sunflow 30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller 12V/24V charges 12V or 24V batteries at up to 30A from as much as 450W of solar on a 12V system or 900W on a 24V system. It accepts up to 100V of PV input and has built-in Bluetooth, a backlit LCD and a 20A load output.
It's designed for compact off-grid systems in RVs, camper vans, boats and camping setups, where you want MPPT charging for a LiFePO4 or lead-acid battery and a simple way to check on it.
BougeRV's manual rates MPPT tracking efficiency above 99% and charging conversion efficiency above 95%. The MPPT operating range runs from 2V above battery voltage up to 72V, and input protection trips at 95V and recovers at 90V.
Set the charge current anywhere from 0 to 30A in 1A steps to match your battery's capacity, or leave it at the full 30A default.
Choose sealed lead acid (SLD), GEL, flooded (FLD), lithium iron phosphate (LI) or a custom (USE) profile with your own voltages. Lead-acid batteries get automatic 12V or 24V detection and temperature compensation. For LiFePO4, select 12V or 24V.
With the included temperature sensor connected and the setting turned on, the controller stops charging a lithium battery at 32°F (0°C) and resumes at 35.6°F (2°C). The setting is off by default, so switch it on during setup.
Built-in Bluetooth lets you monitor solar, battery and load data and change settings from the BougeRV app up to 33 ft away, with no Wi-Fi or cell service. The controller also stores the last 200 days of history.
Run loads up to 20A from the load terminals with always-on, manual, light-controlled or light-plus-timer modes for night lighting.

A PWM controller is the simpler type for panels matched to the battery's voltage. This MPPT controller works from 2V above battery voltage up to 72V, with PV input up to 100V, so it can take higher-voltage panel arrays.
A charge-only controller has no load terminals. The Sunflow 30A adds a 20A load output with timer and light control, plus TTL and RS485 ports for communication.
Connect the battery to the controller first, then the solar panels, and remove them in the reverse order. Keep the array's open-circuit voltage under 100V and its output current within the controller's rated charging current. BougeRV's wiring diagram shows a fuse on the battery line. Keep the controller away from water and make sure the battery area is ventilated.
