Pharos Flashlight Features

Up to 1,800 Lumens in a Pocket-Size Light

Max mode puts out 1,800 lumens of 6,500K cool white light, so you can keep moving after daylight is gone. Dark Energy rates Max at about 1.5 hours of runtime, which makes it the setting to use when you need a lot of light for a short time.

Four Brightness Levels Plus Strobe

Click the side button to cycle through Low at 2 lumens, Medium at 100, High at 365 and Max at 1,800. Press and hold the side button for 2 seconds to switch on the strobe. The tail button turns the light on and off.

Memory Mode Returns to Your Last Setting

When you turn the Pharos back on, it comes on at the brightness you used last. If you mostly use Medium around camp, you won't have to click through the other levels every time.

Long Runtime on the Lower Settings

Dark Energy estimates about 350 hours on Low, 15 hours on Medium, 3.75 hours on High and 1.5 hours on Max. Runtime varies with battery condition, operating conditions and how you use the light, so treat these as estimates.

USB-C Charging and a Battery Indicator

The USB-C port sits under a rubber cover, and a full charge of the 2,600mAh battery takes about 3.5 hours. A color battery indicator shows how much charge is left, so you can top it up before a trip instead of finding out on the trail.

Pharos Flashlight Versus a Disposable-Battery Flashlight

A disposable-battery flashlight needs fresh batteries whenever it runs down, and you rarely know how much is left. The Pharos recharges over USB-C, shows its charge level on a color battery indicator and remembers your last brightness setting.

Low Versus Max

Low gives you 2 lumens for up to 350 hours, enough for moving around a dark tent without lighting up the whole campsite. Max gives you 1,800 lumens for about 1.5 hours when you need full brightness. Medium and High fill the space in between.

Buyer Guidance

Before First Use

Unscrew the cap and remove the plastic isolation tab that keeps the battery from connecting. Reinstall the cap and tighten it securely, then make sure the USB-C port cover is closed. If the light won't turn on later, check the tab is out and the cap is tight.

Caring for the Seals

Keep the USB-C rubber cover closed whenever you're not charging, and inspect the cap, rubber ring and port cover before wet use. An extra rubber ring comes in the box. Clean the light with a soft cloth.

Common Questions

What Do the Battery Indicator Colors Mean?

Green means 100% to 70%, yellow means 70% to 30%, red means 30% to 15% and flashing red means 15% to 5%. Recharge the Pharos when the indicator turns red or starts flashing red.

Is the Pharos Waterproof?

Dark Energy rates the Pharos at IP67. That rating applies only when the flashlight, cap, rubber ring and charging-port cover are properly installed, fully closed and undamaged. Stop using the light if any of those seals or covers is damaged.

Why Won't It Charge?

Make sure the USB-C cover is open, the cable is fully connected and the power source is suitable. If it still won't charge, reconnect the cable and check your charging setup. Don't charge with a damaged cable, port cover or flashlight.

What Warranty Does It Have?

Dark Energy covers the Pharos with a 5-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. It covers manufacturer defects and performance issues not caused by misuse or external damage. Normal wear and tear and damage from misuse aren't covered.
