The DuroMax XP5025GC is a 25-foot, 6-gauge, 50-amp generator power cord built for home power backup. It runs from your generator's 14-50R outlet to a 50A CS6365 power inlet box (not included), so a transfer switch or interlock can feed your home's circuits.
The cord carries 120/240V power at up to 50 amps, or up to 12,000 watts, through 100% copper conductors. A durable STW jacket, reinforced blades and grounded plugs make it outdoor rated and built to last.
The 14-50P plug fits your generator's 14-50R outlet, and the CS6364 locking connector mates with a 50A CS6365 inlet, so the cord stays connected during long outages.
6-gauge copper conductors are sized for 50-amp loads, with low resistance for efficient power delivery over 25 feet.
At 50 amps and 240V, the cord can carry up to 12,000 watts, enough to use the full output of a generator's 50A outlet for home backup.
The heavy-duty STW jacket is rated for outdoor use and handles temperatures from -40°F to 140°F.
Reinforced blades resist bending, and both ends are grounded for safety. The cord weighs 20.79 lbs.
At 25 feet, it gives you room to place the generator well away from doors, windows and vents.
Whole home or partial home backup. Connect your generator to an inlet box wired to a transfer switch or interlock, and power selected circuits or your whole home.
Storm preparation. Keep the cord with your generator so your backup setup is ready before an outage.
Large generators. Use the full 50A output of large generators for central air and other heavy household loads.
Versus a 30A generator cord. A 30A L14-30 cord carries up to 7,200 watts. A 50A cord lets larger generators deliver their full output to your home.
Versus other lengths. DuroMax offers this cord in 15, 25 and 50-foot lengths. Choose the shortest cord that lets you keep the generator a safe distance from your home.
Versus standard extension cords. Household extension cords carry 120V at 15 amps and cannot connect to an inlet box. This cord carries 120/240V at 50 amps.
This may be a good fit if
DuroMax says it fits all generators with a 240V 50A (14-50) output. That includes DuroMax and DuroStar generators with a 14-50R outlet, including the XP9500iH, XP11000iH, XP13000HX, XP15000HX, XP16000iH and DS13000MX.
No. The inlet box and transfer switch or interlock are sold separately and should be installed by a licensed electrician.
It is built to connect a generator to a home inlet. For individual 120V tools and appliances, use a heavy-duty extension cord.
DuroMax covers the XP5025GC with a 1-year parts and technical service warranty.
