How It Works
The Smart Home Panel 2 is the center of the whole-home backup system. It is complete with internal auto-switchover for instant backup. Is the EcoFlow Dual Fuel Smart Generator 4000 compatible with DELTA Pro Ultra?
No, as of December 2024, it is not compatible with the Dual Fuel Smart Generator 4000. There is rumor that EcoFlow may provide an adapter to allow this connection to work, but as of now, it does not.
I am building an off-grid solution with DELTA Pro Ultra and Smart Home Panel 2. I need to update the Smart Home Panel 2 firmware but I am receiving an error. How do I correct this?
A grid connection is necessary for the Smart Home Panel 2 to remain operational during the firmware upgrade process due to the temporary disconnection of the battery.
You can try simulating a grid power scenario using the DELTA Pro Ultra. Here’s how can to do it:
Prepare a DIY cable for the AC output socket (120V/240V, 30A) as it comes with 2 live wires. Strip the insulation from the cable and connect the two live wires from the cable to the main breaker in Smart Home Panel 2 (the other side needs plugged into this socket).
Unplug the DELTA Pro Ultra from Smart Home Panel 2, then turn on the Delta Pro Ultra and activate its AC output.
The Smart Home Panel 2 will recognize the AC output as grid power.
Start the firmware upgrade for Smart Home Panel 2.
After the firmware update is complete, turn off the AC output on the DELTA Pro Ultra and reconnect it to Smart Home Panel 2.
For safety reasons, please ensure that a qualified professional carries out this process.
Can I charge DELTA Pro Ultra with a portable generator while it also charges my home?
This is possible only if the generator has a total harmonic distortion (THD) of 8% or less and it has a pure sine inverter. Otherwise, it might be possible, but damage may occur to the DELTA Pro Ultra batteries.
Can an electrical appliance plug directly into EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra?

I just purchased the DPU with one battery. Haven’t received it yet but I want to shine a light on what outstanding customer service and communication I received from Emmanuel and Bill. I initially purchased a different unit that ultimately was not going to work well with what I was trying to accomplish with home backup. Very Impressed with Dual DPU-36kW!
We have really been impressed with our DPUs and their ability to power our whole home during outages. To give you some context-we have 2x DPUs with 3 batteries each for a total of 36kW. Because of the location of our main service panel, we simply did not have the flexibility to get a SMHP2. Our basement is finished, our 200 Amp main panel is in the corner of our laundry room of all places. Right next to the dryer and washer (you can see the dryer in the pic below). It is crazy to me why they would place everything in that corner of the house when it was built back in 1993 but they did. I was quoted thousands of dollars to relocate my service panel and almost as much to install the SMHP2 and they would need to tear up some of finished basement walls. That was a no-go.
So we found some excellent sales with Outbound Power and had our DPUs in a couple of weeks. We went with a simplified set up using the 50 Amp Hub, interlock switch, a double throw switch and 50-amp inlet. We run a 50-amp cable from the hub to the inlet. My wife did not want me to mount the hub on the wall, so I built a little stand for it. It works like a charm.
Trying to find the limits of our set up this past weekend, I connected the DPUs and ran the entire panel, no managing loads at all. At one time, we had the heat on upstairs and downstairs (two 2-ton heat pumps), the oven, washer and dryer were used, lights, water heater came on as people showered, TVs, etc, etc, etc. Basically, we had a full load of house totaling 10kW+ (pic below) and the DPUs did not miss a beat. This tells me that for extended periods of outage and managing loads, we can definitely go a day+ using these if need be. This gives us some great flexibility for power back up between using our dual fuel generator and DPUs.
My plan for extended outages is to use my external inlet for my generator during the day and in the evening shut it down to secure it. Then switch to the DPUs inside for overnight to avoid worrying about a running generator. Our goal is to get 4 more batteries and get to 60kW. I LOVE THESE!!!

Excellent whole house backup system.

Personal touch via email. Easy to use veteran discount. Some sites offer a veteran discount but you have to dig for it and/or it's hard to use. Price matching made quick and easy. Since I've had such a positive experience why should I chance another store when you all will price match lowest price?

I bought my dual fuel 3000 to basically charge my other EcoFlow solar generators when they run low. Solar is very slow so this is a good solution. It was a great price from outbound power performed. Well I prefer to use the propane as it’s much cleaner, also, it does not use the carburetor so the less trouble with the carburetor to me the better. it’s a really good product very well built very easy to use and got a great price.

I ordered the F2600 and it has been great so far. I ordered the BP2600 as well and had a few issues but Anker customer support has been really excellent with responding to my questions. I will continue to monitor for issues but for my home backup situation I feel much more confident for emergency scenarios. Also, Outbound Power was absolutely excellent and I highly recommend you make your power station purchases there.

Love mine. The feature that attracted me most was the water resistance. I mostly use this dry camping with my camper. I have other power staions with a ttr 30 plug, which is important to me, and take great pains to keep them sheltered and dry but worry about the unforseen. Stuff (rain) happens! I'm less worried about this unit. I've seen YouTube reviews of people spraying these with water and leaving them in the rain without mishap. I don't plan to do that but glad to know should it happen, it should be fine.
It runs all my camper AC appliances just fine, microwave,
Keurig, etc. I've even run my camper's 13,500 btu ac unit to see if it would. I don't plan to use it for that because it probably wouldn't go more than an hour. Just nice to know I could. I've tested it on my home refrigerator and upright freezer without problem. I figure about 16-24 hours on the fridge and maybe a couple of days on the freezer with a power outage (without expansion battery) but haven't tested it to that extreme yet. Probably some YouTube videos out there that test that more thoroughly.
The video reviews I've seen give battery capacity an efficency around 85% which is considered good. I do have the expansion battery but haven't really tried it too much but figure it will significantly increase my runtimes. I plan to add more expansion batteries over time.
Seems to charge well on solar but there are voltage limitations. I'm waiting for Bluetti to release their PV voltage regulator which as I understand it allows you hook up an array of solar panels and it will maximize the input. AC charging is adjustable with 3 modes and can charge it up pretty quickly if you want.
It's heavy but seems on par with other brands of the same capacity.
My experience with Outbound power has been exemplary. They answer my emails quickly. Ship quickly and offer a hassle free veteran discount through GovX. They've priced matched for me twice. I've made 4 purchases from them far and have consistently gotten excellent customer service. These things are expensive and it's good to know you're dealing with someone who's going to stand behind the sale. Ymmv
