This DC-DC step-down converter takes 30V to 45V DC from your 36V golf cart battery pack and delivers a 13.5V DC, 12V-class output rated at 25A. It lets you run 12V headlights, horns, radios and USB chargers without feeding them full pack voltage.

It's made for 36V lithium golf cart upgrades and for 36V EZGO TXT, Club Car DS, Yamaha G-Series and Melex carts with 12V accessories.

The label lists 30V to 45V DC input and 13.5V DC output, a 12V-class supply for 12V accessories. It's for 36V systems only.

Practical Comparison

Voltage Reducer Versus Tapping Two 6V Batteries

Older 36V carts often powered accessories by tapping two 6V lead-acid batteries. A single-block lithium battery has nothing to tap, and tapping part of a multi-battery lithium bank creates imbalance and can cause BMS issues. The reducer draws from the full 36V pack instead.

36V Reducer Versus a 48V Reducer

This reducer is labeled for 30V to 45V input. A 48V cart needs a 48V to 12V reducer.

Buyer Guidance

Wire It Through a Fused Distribution Block

Route 36V input to the reducer, connect the key-on trigger, then feed the 12V output into a fused 12V distribution block. Use appropriately sized wire, fuses, grounds and connectors, and never wire accessories directly to the 36V battery.

Mount It Somewhere Protected

No IP rating is given, so mount the reducer away from standing water, direct pressure washing and exposed splash zones.

What Do the Wire Colors Mean?

Yellow is 30–45V positive input, black is 30–45V negative input, orange is key-on positive, red is 13.5V positive output and black is 13.5V negative output. Check the label on your unit before connecting power.

Will It Drain My Battery When the Cart Is Parked?

Wired through the key-on trigger, it's meant to power on only when the key circuit is active, which reduces parasitic drain. Verify it turns off when the key is off.
