The Firman T08073 is a tri-fuel open frame generator built on Firman's Max Pro Series 459cc OHV engine. On gasoline it delivers 10000 starting watts and 8000 running watts. On propane (LPG) it delivers 9050 starting and 7250 running watts, and on natural gas (NG) 6900 starting and 5500 running watts. Output is 120/240V, and the 8-gallon tank gives you up to 10.5 hours of run time at 50% load.
It's built for homeowners who want a storm-ready generator that can feed a transfer switch and run on whichever fuel is on hand, and for RV owners who need a 50A outlet. Electric start, Firman CO Alert shutdown, a roll cage frame and a 4-year limited warranty come standard.

The main fuel selector chooses GAS or LPG/NG and also turns the engine on, and a second selector picks LPG or NG. Both gas fuels connect at a 3/8" flare male inlet. Firman includes the LPG hose with regulator, and natural gas runs on a supply pressure of 7 to 11 inches of water column.
The covered panel has a 14-50R 120/240V 50A outlet (up to 33.33A at 240V), an L14-30R 120/240V 30A twist lock, an L5-30R 120V 30A twist lock and a 5-20R 120V 20A GFCI duplex. The GFCI tests itself periodically and shows a solid green light when it's working.
Either 120/240V receptacle can cord-connect the generator to a listed transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician. The connection must isolate generator power from utility power. Once it's in place, you can run 120V and 240V home circuits during an outage.
Hold the engine start switch in the START position to crank the engine, or use the recoil starter as a backup. When you turn the fuel selector on, an indicator light glows red for up to 4 minutes. Start within that window, or turn the selector off and back on to reset the battery power saving mode.
CO Alert shuts the engine down automatically when harmful levels of carbon monoxide build up around the generator, or if a CO Alert fault occurs. A yellow light blinks for five seconds at startup to show the system is working. CO Alert does not replace carbon monoxide alarms, so Firman tells you to install battery-powered CO alarms in your home.
Firman pairs the 459cc engine with its Phoenix Fat Head Block, which Firman says is built for cool, efficient operation. The engine has a cast iron sleeve and low oil shutdown, and an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) controls output voltage. The 3-1 Data-Minder shows voltage, hertz and running hours, and a fuel gauge shows the tank level.
Firman builds the T08073 with a roll cage frame, 11.0" flat free wheels and a folding handle for easier transport, so you can roll it from storage to its outdoor run spot.
Home backup through a transfer switch. With a listed transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician, run selected 120V and 240V home circuits during an outage.
Storm preparation. Keep gasoline in the tank and a propane cylinder ready, or connect to natural gas, so you have more than one fuel to fall back on.
RV power. Firman lists RV use for the T08073, and the 14-50R gives you a 120/240V 50A receptacle rated up to 33.33A at 240V.
Home projects. Power tools and equipment for projects around the house through outdoor-rated extension cords.
Versus the Firman T08072. The T08072 has the same watt ratings on all three fuels and an 8-gallon tank, with a 439cc engine, 10.0" wheels and a 3-year warranty, and it weighs 213 lbs. The T08073 adds the 459cc engine, 11.0" wheels, a cover and power cord in the box and a 4-year warranty, at 225 lbs.
Versus the Firman H08052. The H08052 has the same 8000W/10000W gasoline and 7250W/9050W propane ratings but runs on gasoline and propane only, with a 3-year warranty. Choose the T08073 if you want natural gas and longer coverage.
Versus home standby generators. A standby generator is installed permanently. The T08073 connects through a transfer switch when you need it, then rolls back into storage, and it can still run on natural gas.
This may be a good fit if
A locally approved flexible fuel line between your natural gas supply connection and the generator's LPG/NG inlet, installed to local codes. Supply pressure should be 7 to 11 inches of water column, and the generator must still sit at least 20 feet from occupied spaces.
Firman rates it at up to 10.5 hours at 50% load on the 8-gallon tank. On natural gas, the manual lists 72 ft³/hr at no load, 86 ft³/hr at half load and 101 ft³/hr at full load. On propane, it lists 15.6, 33 and 54.6 ft³/hr.
Firman lists 74 dB at 1/2 load.
The T08073 has a Firman 4-year limited warranty, with 1 year of parts and labor and 4 years of parts and technical support for the original purchaser. Commercial and industrial use is covered for 90 days parts and labor and 180 days parts. Register within 10 days of purchase.
The Firman T08073 Tri-Fuel 8000W/10000W Portable Generator gives you 120/240V power on gasoline, propane or natural gas, a 50A outlet for your transfer switch, CO Alert shutdown and a 4-year limited warranty. If you're planning a home backup setup or a natural gas hookup, the Outbound Power team is happy to help.
