The Renogy 12V 100Ah Pro Series Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery with Bluetooth and Self-Heating is a 12.8V, 100Ah LiFePO4 battery rated for 1280Wh. It has a built-in heater, built-in Bluetooth, an automotive-grade battery management system with more than 60 protections and alarms, and a flame-retardant casing rated UL94 V-0.
It's made for RVs, campers, boats and cold-weather gear such as ice fishing setups. The manual describes a proprietary housing material in a smaller size, and you can wire up to 8 together in parallel to grow your capacity.
The built-in heater starts automatically when the battery temperature drops below 41°F (5°C) and stops once it rises above 50°F (10°C). It needs a stable charge current above 4A for each battery in the bank. Renogy lists a charge temperature range of -4°F to 131°F (-20°C to 55°C).
Bluetooth is built in, so you don't add a separate module. Pair the battery with the Renogy DC Home app to monitor its parameters from your phone. Renogy also says the app can deliver over-the-air updates.
The battery management system combines more than 60 protections and alarms with an active backup protection. Renogy says that backup, a self-control fuse, cuts the circuit 40x faster than conventional passive protection when a MOSFET switch fails.
The PC/ABS housing is rated UL94 V-0 and carries an IP67 protection rating. Renogy also describes the battery as corrosion-resistant (ISO). Even so, the manual says to keep the battery away from standing water and to mount it in a clean, cool, dry spot.
The maximum continuous charge and discharge current is 100A each, and the peak discharge current is 245A for 30 seconds. Renogy points to heavy loads such as air conditioners as an example of what the peak rating supports.
You can connect up to 8 of these batteries in parallel for 12.8V and 800Ah, or 10.24kWh. Parallel is the only supported connection. Mounting holes on the bottom accept Renogy's battery fix brackets.
RV, van and camper power. Renogy lists this battery under its RV, van and camper scenario. The manual describes the housing as sized for RV use and the internal structure as built for it.
Ice fishing and winter use. Renogy suggests the self-heating battery for ice fishing gear such as fish finders. The heater lets it accept charge in sub-zero temperatures when the charge current is above 4A.
Boats and trolling motors. Renogy also lists trolling motors as a scenario, and its product images show the battery in freshwater and sea fishing settings. Check your motor's current draw against the 100A continuous rating.
The manual says this battery weighs half as much as lead-acid counterparts and can be discharged to 100% depth of discharge. Renogy rates it for 5000 cycles at 80% DOD.
A lithium battery without a heater depends on the surrounding air being warm enough to charge. This one warms itself first. You still need a charge source above 4A for the heater to run, so plan your charger or solar controller around that.
Renogy says to protect the system with breakers, fuses or disconnects sized by a certified electrician, licensed installer or local code authority. The manual's cable table covers copper cables up to 13 feet (4 m). Use the included long M8 bolts when you stack several lugs on one terminal, and tighten to 70.8 in·lbs (8 N·m). Leave 1.97-3.94 in (5-10 cm) of clearance above the battery and at least 7.87 in (20 cm) on the busbar side. Never mount it sideways or upside down.
Use a charger or charge controller that is compatible with lithium iron phosphate, with the charge voltage set to 14.4V (±0.2V). Connect only batteries of the same model and capacity, and only in parallel. Before joining them, charge each one full, check that their voltages are within 0.1V, then connect them and let them rest for 12 to 24 hours.
No. Renogy says Pro Series 12V batteries connect in parallel only, not in series.
Up to 8 in parallel, for 10.24kWh. Use batteries of the same model and similar capacity.
Keep a stable charge current above 4A for each battery in the bank. The heater turns on below 41°F (5°C) and off above 50°F (10°C).
No. Bluetooth is built in. Pair the battery with the Renogy DC Home app for real-time monitoring.
Renogy says this battery is compatible with Renogy ONE M1 and Core. A Renogy ONE Core is not included with this option.
This option is a single battery. Battery adapter cables and battery fix brackets are not included.
The Renogy 12V 100Ah Pro Series Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery with Bluetooth and Self-Heating pairs a heater, built-in Bluetooth and a double active safety system in one 12.8V, 100Ah battery.
