The Renogy 3000W 12V Pro Pure Sine Wave Inverter with EcoSleep Mode converts power from a 12V battery bank into 120V AC. It is rated for 3000W continuous output and a 6000W surge, with a pure sine wave output and total harmonic distortion under 3% on a resistive load.
It's built for RVs, semi-trucks, boats and off-grid cabins that run on a 12V system. The Pro series adds pre-charging, dual-polarity reverse connection protection, an EcoSleep idle mode and Bluetooth and RV-C monitoring, and a wired remote is included.
In EcoSleep mode the inverter uses under 10W while idle. Renogy says this can save 480Wh to 720Wh over a 2 to 3 day off-grid trip. You can turn power saving mode on and off in the app.
The inverter delivers 3000W of pure sine wave power, with a 6000W surge for 100 ms for inductive loads such as air conditioners. Renogy recommends starting inductive loads first and letting them stabilize before turning on other appliances, to avoid unexpected shutdowns. Peak efficiency is 90% or more and full-load efficiency is 87% or more.
Pre-charging gives a controlled start-up that protects the inverter and the battery from harmful peak current surges, which Renogy says helps the battery last longer.
If the positive and negative cables are connected the wrong way round, dual-polarity reverse connection protection helps prevent connection errors. Still check polarity before you connect.
The inverter supports Bluetooth and RV-C for real-time monitoring. The mobile app shows output volts, amps, frequency, battery volts and temperature, and its settings include power saving mode, the on/off beep and voltage protection points. Communication is RS485 and RV-C.
Two AC sockets and a DIY AC terminal cover plug-in and hardwired loads. Built-in GFCI protection guards against electrical faults, and the wired remote switches the inverter from up to about 16.4 ft away. Renogy asks you to make sure the chassis is well grounded.
RVs. Run RV appliances from a 12V battery bank, and start air conditioners first.
Semi-trucks. Cooling fans are suited to seat backs and enclosed spaces. They circulate air to prevent heat build-up.
Boats. The inverter is listed to UL 458 including the marine supplement and has built-in GFCI protection.
Off-grid trips. EcoSleep mode keeps idle consumption low when nothing is plugged in.
Renogy compares the Pro series with its standard P2 series. The Pro series adds sleep mode, built-in Bluetooth and a 3-year warranty. The standard series has a 1-year warranty.
Renogy notes that modified sine wave inverters produce a jagged waveform that can cause noise and make appliances less efficient. Inductive loads such as microwave ovens and motors may run less efficiently or overheat. A pure sine wave inverter lets them run faster, quieter and cooler.
Keep combined loads at or below 3000 watts. Renogy says a 12V 3000W inverter can use two 12V 200Ah batteries or one 12V 400Ah battery. In typical situations a 100Ah to 300Ah battery is needed, depending on the battery management system. Many 100Ah batteries limit continuous current to 100 amps, so two 100Ah batteries may not fully power 3000W, though Renogy says they should support about 2000 watts. The inverter works with GEL, AGM, sealed lead-acid, flooded and lithium batteries and accepts 11V to 15.5V DC.
Leave about 1.97 inches above the inverter and at least 4 inches beside the busbar side. Use breakers with appropriate wire sizes, and ground the chassis.
Renogy says you can use two 12V 200Ah batteries or one 12V 400Ah battery. A 100Ah to 300Ah battery is typical, depending on the battery's BMS and its continuous current limit.
Renogy's answer lists built-in GFCI protection, breakers used with appropriate wire sizes and reverse connection protection. It also lists an IP21 water protection rating, which is not in the specification table, so check with us if that matters for your installation.
Renogy lists under 10W while the inverter is idle in EcoSleep mode.
Yes. Renogy lists a mobile app, Bluetooth and RV-C for real-time monitoring.
