The Renogy BT-2 Bluetooth Module Brings Real-Time Data From Renogy RS485 Devices to the Renogy DC Home App
The Renogy BT-2 Bluetooth Module is a new generation Bluetooth module for select Renogy solar charge controllers, DC-DC battery chargers, smart lithium batteries and inverters. It plugs into the RJ45 communication port of a compatible device and sends data to the Renogy DC Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
It is for anyone with Renogy equipment that has an RS485 communication port. Through the app you can configure, monitor, update and diagnose your products from your phone.

Control Over RS485 Devices
Wirelessly monitor and adjust compatible Renogy RS485 communication port devices. Renogy says you can follow solar power generation, energy storage and inverter operating data in real time.
Real-Time and Historical Data
The Renogy DC Home app shows real-time and historical data from your devices. Renogy says Bluetooth 4.2 and BLE technology provides fast and uninterrupted communication, with a signal range of up to 82 ft (25 m).
Works With the Renogy Communication Hub
Renogy says the BT-2 uses RS485 and is compatible with the Renogy Communication Hub, which lets you connect multiple Renogy devices and watch the whole system in one place.
Powered Through the Port
The module is powered through its RJ45 communication port and has a 16.4 ft (5 m) cable and mounting holes. Two LEDs show status. Green means power is on, and a flashing blue link LED means it is communicating.
Real-World Applications
RV and off-grid systems. Check charging, battery level and inverter output from inside, within Bluetooth range.
Multi-device systems. Pair the module with the Renogy Communication Hub to monitor several devices together.

BT-2 Versus BT-1
Renogy says the BT-1 uses RS232 and works only with RJ12 devices. The BT-2 uses RS485 and an RJ45 port, and works with the Renogy Communication Hub.

Without the module, you read each controller, battery or inverter at its own display. With it, the app brings the data to your phone.

Confirm Your Device Has an RS485 Port
Only devices with an RS485 communication port work with the BT-2, and the port type is RJ45. Renogy's lists name models such as Rover controllers, DC-DC chargers, smart lithium batteries and inverters. Check your model against Renogy's list or ask us before you order.
Range and Walls
The module reads device data only within 82 ft, and thicker walls or longer distances can disturb the signal. It cannot read data from off site.
