The Renogy LP16 Plug (7-Pin) 10FT/23FT Communication Cable Links Your REGO Devices So the Battery Can Adjust Its Charging

The Renogy LP16 Plug (7-Pin) 10FT/23FT Communication Cable carries the RV-C communication connection between Renogy REGO series products. Each end has a 7-pin LP16 connector that plugs into any CAN communication port on your REGO devices.

It is for REGO system owners who want their battery, controller and other REGO products to talk to each other. You choose a 10 ft or 23 ft length to match the distance between the devices.

Renogy LP16 Plug (7-Pin) 10FT/23FT Communication Cable Features

Device Communication for Safer Charging

Renogy says the inter-device communication lets the REGO battery dynamically adjust its charging profile for optimal and safe charging. The cable provides the wired link that makes this possible.

Plug and Play LP16 Connectors

The fast-plugging design makes assembly easy, and you tap to release. Renogy's images call out a one-hand plug and unplug design, a PBT insulative housing and a 3µm gold-plated contact core.

Tinned Copper Conductors

The cable uses 22 AWG high-purity oxygen-free tinned stranded conductors, twisted in pairs, with a PVC insulated jacket. Renogy lists a rated voltage of 300V and a baud rate above 250 kbps.

Built for Weather and Vibration

In a connected state the cable reaches IP65 protection, and its temperature rating is -25 to 80°C (-4 to 176°F). Renogy says its pressure-resistant structure withstands vibration and shock. The materials are RoHS compliant and the cable is UL compliant.

Real-World Applications

Battery to battery. Connect REGO batteries to each other so they share communication.

Battery to other REGO products. Link a REGO battery to a REGO controller or other REGO series product.

RV, marine and off-grid systems. Renogy lists RV, marine, camping, outdoor, cabin and truck uses.

Practical Comparison

10 ft Versus 23 ft

Both options use the same cable and connectors. Choose 10 ft for devices mounted close together and 23 ft when they are farther apart.

Wired Communication Versus Bluetooth

Renogy says Bluetooth through the Renogy DC Home app suits short-range monitoring of a single device. To communicate with and program a remote vehicle system, Renogy says each product connects by wire to the Renogy ONE.

Buyer Guidance

One Cable for Every Two Devices

Renogy says a communication cable needs to connect every two REGO products for wired communication. Count the links in your system before you order.

Connection Order

There is no priority. You can connect any device first.

This May Be A Good Fit If

  • You own Renogy REGO series products with CAN communication ports
  • You want your REGO battery to adjust charging from device communication
  • You need a 10 ft or 23 ft link between devices
