Black Renogy communication cable in a loop with a clear RJ45 plug on one end

The Renogy LP16 Plug (7-Pin) to RJ45 20FT Communication Cable Connects Your REGO Products to the Renogy ONE

The Renogy LP16 Plug (7-Pin) to RJ45 20FT Communication Cable links Renogy REGO series products to the Renogy ONE all-in-one panel. One end has a standard RJ45 connector for the Renogy ONE RJ45 communication port. The other end has a 7-pin LP16 connector for the CAN terminal of your REGO products.

It is for REGO system owners adding a Renogy ONE. Renogy says the ONE command center gives you a full view of your REGO system, with monitoring and control of REGO devices from one screen.

Renogy LP16 Plug (7-Pin) to RJ45 20FT Communication Cable Features

RJ45 on One End, LP16 on the Other

You connect the RJ45 end to the Renogy ONE and the LP16 end to the CAN terminal of a REGO product. That gives you a direct wired path between the two, with no adapter needed.

One-Hand Plug and Unplug

The 7-pin LP16 plug uses a quick-plug design. You tap to release it, which keeps connections quick and secure.

Tinned Copper Conductors

The cable uses UL-compliant 28 AWG high-purity oxygen-free tinned stranded conductors, twisted in pairs, with a PVC insulated jacket. The plug contact core has 3µm gold plating. Renogy lists a rated voltage of 300V and a baud rate above 250 kbps.

Vibration-Resistant Plug With IP65 Rating

Renogy says the LP16 plug has a pressure-resistant structure that withstands vibration and shock, and rates it IP65. All plug materials are RoHS compliant, and the cable is rated to 80°C (176°F).

Real-World Applications

Wired monitoring. Connect a REGO product to the Renogy ONE by wire for system-wide monitoring. Renogy says this supports remote parameter setting and 24-hour online monitoring.

REGO inverter charger link. Renogy shows the RJ45 end connecting to a REGO inverter charger CAN port.

Practical Comparison

Wired Connection Versus Bluetooth

Renogy says Bluetooth through the Renogy DC Home app suits short-range monitoring of a single device. To communicate with and program a remote vehicle system, each product connects by wire to the Renogy ONE, which connects through Wi-Fi or a cellular network.

Buyer Guidance

Power On First

Renogy says to power on first and then connect the communication cable. There is no priority between connecting the Renogy ONE or the REGO product first.

Cable Length

The cable is 20 ft long, and Renogy notes the length does not include the connectors. Measure the run between your Renogy ONE and your REGO product.

This May Be A Good Fit If

  • You own a Renogy ONE with an RJ45 communication port
  • You have REGO series products with a CAN terminal
  • You want wired communication between them
