The Renogy Pro 12V 1000W/2000W/3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Bluetooth Cuts Idle Power to 9.6W and Lets You Monitor Output From Your Phone

The Renogy Pro 12V 1000W/2000W/3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Bluetooth converts DC power from a 12V battery bank into 115V AC power. It comes in three sizes, 1000W, 2000W and 3000W, with peak output of 2000W, 4000W and 6000W for 150 ms. Peak efficiency is up to 92%, and total harmonic distortion is under 4%.

It is built for RV living, remote jobsites and backup power. Built-in Bluetooth lets you follow power status in the Renogy app, and a wired remote switches the inverter on and off from a distance. Two plug-and-play AC outlets, a USB port and DIY AC terminals cover both plug-in loads and hardwired wiring.

Low Idle Power and Up to 92% Efficiency

Zero-load power is 9.6W, which helps your battery last when no appliance is running. Maximum inverter efficiency is 92%, and efficiency at full load is 87% or higher.

Surge Power for Start-Up Loads

Renogy rates the inverters for two times surge power. Peak output is 2000W on the 1000W model, 4000W on the 2000W model and 6000W on the 3000W model, each for 150 ms. The overload rating is at least 1 minute at 120%, 5 seconds at 150% and 150 ms at 200%.

Two Plug-and-Play Outlets, a USB Port and DIY AC Terminals

Two AC outlets are on the front, along with an 18W USB port. The DIY AC terminals let you hardwire a GFCI, a sub-panel or extra outlets. Renogy lists maximum power through the terminals at 1000W, 2000W or 3000W by model, and says they support continuous operation at rated output when properly installed.

GFCI Outlets on the 2000W and 3000W Models

The 2000W and 3000W models have GFCI-protected outlets rated for 20A. The 1000W model has no built-in GFCI outlet, and Renogy recommends an external GFCI for it. Every model has undervoltage, overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, overtemperature and short-circuit protection.

Bluetooth Monitoring and Wired Remote

Pair the inverter with the Renogy app over Bluetooth to see its operating status on your phone. Renogy's manual says to keep the phone within 10 feet (3 m) of the inverter. The wired remote connects with a 5 m cable and turns the inverter on and off when the ON/OFF/REM switch is set to REM.

Works With Lithium and Lead-Acid Batteries

The inverter works with 12V gel, flooded, sealed lead-acid or AGM, and lithium iron phosphate batteries. Input voltage ranges from 10.5V to 16.8V DC.

Pure Sine Wave Inverter Versus Modified Sine Inverter

A pure sine wave inverter produces a smooth waveform similar to grid power, which suits sensitive electronics. Modified sine inverters cost less but can cause trouble with delicate equipment. This one outputs a pure sine wave with total harmonic distortion under 4%.

1000W Versus 2000W and 3000W

All three sizes share the same features, including Bluetooth, the wired remote and DIY AC terminals. The 2000W and 3000W models add GFCI outlets. Larger models need a bigger battery fuse and heavier battery cables, and they are larger and heavier.

Buyer Guidance

Choosing a Size and Battery Wiring

Add up the watts of everything you will run at the same time and stay below the continuous rating. For fusing, Renogy's manual lists a 150A ANL fuse for the 1000W model, 250A for the 2000W and 400A for the 3000W. It lists 4 AWG battery cables for the 1000W model, 1/0 AWG for the 2000W and 4/0 AWG for the 3000W, and suggests keeping cables to 4 m (13 ft) or less. This inverter works only with 12V battery systems and does not charge batteries.

Installation Requirements

Renogy says qualified personnel must install and service the inverter, meaning trained and licensed electricians or installers. The inverter is for indoor use only. Mount it on a horizontal surface in a cool, dry, ventilated spot with at least 10 inches of clearance, not in the same compartment as the batteries. Never connect the AC output to a breaker panel or load center that is also fed by the utility or a generator.

Common Questions

Can I Wire the Inverter Into a Travel Trailer Panel?

Yes. Renogy says the DIY AC terminals deliver full-rated power, so you can hardwire a power strip or an electrical panel. Have a qualified installer do the work.

Can This Inverter Charge My Batteries?

No. It only converts DC power to AC power. If you need to charge batteries from AC, look at an inverter charger instead.

Do I Need a Separate Bluetooth Module?

No. Bluetooth is built in, and you track the inverter in the Renogy app.

Why Is My Inverter Tripping?

Renogy lists overloading, high start-up current from inductive loads such as air conditioners and refrigerators, short circuits and loose wiring as common causes.
