The Renogy REGO 12V/24V/36V/48V 30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller charges 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V battery banks at up to 30A. It accepts up to 150V of solar input, so you can wire panels in series, in parallel or in a mix of both. For non-lithium batteries it detects the system voltage on its own.
It is made for RVs, homes and off-grid systems where one controller has to cover several battery voltages. Plug-in Amphenol battery connectors and IP67 solar connectors keep wiring simple, and built-in Bluetooth and RV-C let you monitor the controller your way.
Maximum solar input voltage is 150 VDC. Maximum solar input power is 440W on a 12V battery, 880W on 24V, 1314W on 36V and 1700W on 48V. Renogy says the panels can be wired in series, in parallel, or a combination of both.
The battery operating range is 8V to 64V. The controller auto-recognizes 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V non-lithium batteries. Choose SLD/AGM, Gel, Flooded, Lithium or User mode with the Type button, or in the Renogy DC Home app.
Renogy lists MPPT tracking efficiency above 99% and conversion efficiency above 97%. Lead-acid batteries get 3-stage charging, and lithium batteries get 2-stage charging. Renogy says the controller keeps its full output current at 45°C (113°F) and 3000 m altitude.
Amphenol battery connectors and IP67 solar connectors snap together, which Renogy says helps avoid installation mistakes. A battery temperature sensor with a 3 m cable is included.
Built-in Bluetooth works with the Renogy DC Home app, and wired RV-C communication is on the CAN ports. A real-time clock records a full year of data, and over-the-air updates include a rollback mechanism.
Renogy lists 13 built-in protection features, including low-temperature protection. The enclosure is rated IP43 for humid environments.
RVs. Renogy lists RV use and supports RV-C communication for wired monitoring.
Homes and off-grid systems. Renogy lists homes and various off-grid applications, from 12V up to 48V banks.
DIY solar builds. The 150V input and 12V to 48V range give you room to choose panel and battery layouts.
A PWM controller needs panel voltage matched to the battery. This MPPT controller tracks the panel's maximum power point, which Renogy says is most useful when panel voltage is well above battery voltage.
A higher input limit lets you wire more panels in series on one controller, and a wider battery range lets one model serve 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V banks.
Keep the array's open-circuit voltage within the 150V limit, and stay within the power limit for your battery voltage. On a 12V battery the limit is 440W, and it rises with system voltage up to 1700W on 48V.
The controller has no built-in fuse. Renogy says to always add a fuse between the controller and the batteries, sized to the controller rating, and recommends a 30A ANL fuse for its 30A controllers. Connect the battery before the solar panels.
Renogy says the panels can be wired in series, in parallel, or in a combination, as long as the array stays within the 150V input limit.
Up to 440W on a 12V battery, 880W on 24V, 1314W on 36V and 1700W on 48V, with a maximum solar voltage of 150V.
No. Always add a fuse between the controller and the batteries. Renogy recommends a 30A ANL fuse for its 30A controllers.
It is the most current the controller can send into the batteries.
The Renogy REGO 12V/24V/36V/48V 30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller gives you 150V input, plug-in wiring and built-in monitoring in one controller. If you have questions about your setup, the Outbound Power team is happy to help.
