The Renogy REGO 3000W 12V Pure Sine Wave HF Inverter Charger Split-Phase Design is a compact high-frequency inverter charger for 12V battery systems. It is rated for 3000W continuous output, with surge ratings of 9000VA for 100 ms, 4500VA for 5 seconds and 3600W for 10 seconds, and it charges your battery at up to 150A.
It is made for RVs and off-grid setups that connect to shore power or a generator. It accepts split-phase 120/240V AC input as well as single-phase input, switches between AC and battery in about 10 ms and has built-in Bluetooth for monitoring in the Renogy DC Home app.
Renogy lists efficiency above 92% and total harmonic distortion under 3%. The unit weighs 22.7 lb, and Renogy calls it a compact high-frequency design. Output frequency can be set to 50 Hz or 60 Hz with a switch on the panel.
Input accepts 180V to 280V AC for split-phase supplies or 90V to 140V AC for single-phase supplies, at 50/60 Hz (±5 Hz), from utility power or a generator. Renogy notes that 240V AC output is available only when the unit is supplied by a split-phase 120/240V AC source.
Charger output is 150A at 25°C. You can adjust it from 5A to 150A in 5A steps, and the default is 150A. Optimal charger efficiency is over 90%. A knob on the panel selects the battery type, and the unit supports GEL, AGM, SLA, FLD, CAL, LI and USER settings.
Transfer time is about 10 ms. The transfer rating is 50A maximum bypass at 120V AC. Renogy's FAQ says that with 120V AC input in bypass mode, the maximum output is 6000W at a rated current of 50A, which is more than the unit's normal rated output.
Renogy lists lithium battery activation and heating capability, and the package includes a battery temperature sensor. Full-load operation runs from -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C), and output derates from 113°F to 140°F (45°C to 60°C).
Bluetooth is built in, and Renogy says the unit supports the RV-C protocol. Panel switches set the buzzer, the output frequency and whether AC or battery has priority. Through the app you can turn on ECO mode and adjust charging current and battery protection settings, but not power the unit off.
RV power. Renogy designed the unit for RV electrical systems, including setups with split-phase shore power.
Generator-backed systems. The charger accepts sine wave input from utility power or a generator, then runs your loads on battery when AC is off.
Lithium battery banks. Use the LI setting, the activation feature and the temperature sensor with a 12V lithium battery.
Renogy's FAQ says the main difference is that this model operates at high frequency, while the REGO 3000W with LCD display operates at standard frequency. This model also supports North American 120/240V AC split-phase input and has a higher load capacity.
A standalone inverter only converts battery power to AC. This inverter charger also charges the battery from AC and passes AC through to your loads when it is available.
This is a 12V unit with a DC input range of 9V to 17V DC, and full load runs from 11V to 15.8V DC. Check that your shore power or generator matches the input ranges above before you buy.
The unit measures 19.37 x 13.11 x 5.31 in. Renogy's page asks you to leave 1.97 inches above the unit and at least 4 inches on the side with the busbars, and the size data does not include button height. Our sources do not list fuse sizes or cable gauges for this model, so have a qualified installer size the cabling and breakers, and ask the Outbound Power team if you want help.
Yes. Built-in Bluetooth lets you monitor and control it in the Renogy DC Home app.
In UPS mode, shore power covers the inverter's self-consumption. In battery priority mode, the inverter draws that power from the battery.
Yes, with limits. You can turn on ECO mode and adjust charging current and battery protection settings. You cannot power the inverter off from the app.
240V AC output is available only when the unit is supplied by a split-phase 120/240V AC source, according to Renogy.
The Renogy REGO 3000W 12V Pure Sine Wave HF Inverter Charger Split-Phase Design combines a 150A charger, a transfer switch and a pure sine wave inverter for your 12V system. If you have questions about your shore power setup or planning your cabling, the Outbound Power team is happy to help.
