The Renogy Solar Panel to Charge Controller Adaptor Kit is a set of two wires made to connect a Renogy solar panel to a charge controller. Each wire has a solar connector on one end and exposed wire on the other. The connector end plugs into the panel and the exposed end leads into the controller.
It is made for off-grid solar installations, on a roof or at ground level. Renogy says it is ideal for Renogy Off-Grid Kits ranging from 100W to 400W. We offer it in 12 AWG and 10 AWG, from 9 in to 40 ft.

Connector on One End, Bare Wire on the Other
One wire has a male connector and the other a female. The other ends are exposed for the charge controller terminals. Renogy's photo shows the pair running between a panel and the PV terminals of a charge controller.
Weatherproof, Sunlight Resistant Cable
Renogy describes the wiring as black, sunlight resistant, insulated and weatherproof, designed to withstand extreme heat and cold. It lists IP65 protection and an operating range of -40°F to 185°F. Renogy's photo also lists fire rating IEC 60332-1.
Tinned Copper Conductor
Renogy lists a tinned copper conductor and a 600/1000V rating. The 12 AWG conductor is 4.0 mm² with 56 strands. The 10 AWG conductor is 6.0 mm² with 84 strands.

12 AWG Versus 10 AWG
10 AWG is the thicker cable, with a 6.0 mm² conductor against 4.0 mm² for 12 AWG. Both have the same connectors and the same voltage rating.
Adaptor Kit Versus Extension Cable
An extension cable has a connector at both ends. This kit has bare wire at one end for the controller.
