The Rich Solar 1200 Watt Solar Kit is a 24V solar charging kit built around six MEGA 200 monocrystalline panels and a 60A MPPT charge controller. Rich Solar rates it at about 4.3kWh of energy per day with 4 peak sun hours, enough to support a large RV, cabin or off-grid battery bank that runs appliances every day.

The kit includes six sets of Z brackets, a 20 ft panel-to-controller cable pair, a 10 ft 8 AWG controller-to-battery cable pair, a 30A inline fuse and a pair of Y branch parallel adapters. Add a 24V battery bank, and an inverter if you want AC power, to complete the system.

Six MEGA 200 Monocrystalline Panels

Each MEGA 200 generates 10.9A at its maximum power point. The panels use anti-reflective coated tempered glass and anodized aluminum frames, perform well in low light, and carry a 25-year power output warranty and 10-year workmanship warranty.

60A MPPT Charge Controller

The RS-MPPT60 reaches up to 99% tracking efficiency and 98% peak conversion efficiency. It automatically detects 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V systems and is rated for up to 1,600W of solar at 24V, so the 1200W array sits well within its range.

High Input Voltage for Series Wiring

The controller accepts up to 150V of solar input at 77°F. That leaves room to wire panels in series strings, then combine the strings with the included Y branch parallel adapters.

Clear Display and Optional Bluetooth

An LCD screen and multiple LED indicators show system information, customizable parameters and error codes. An RS232 port connects to the BT-1 Bluetooth module, sold separately, for monitoring from your phone.

Full Electronic Protection

The controller protects against reverse polarity, overcharging, over-discharging, overload, short circuits and reverse current. Its die-cast aluminum case dissipates heat efficiently, and it can charge over-discharged lithium batteries. The 30A inline fuse adds circuit protection.

Load Control Built In

A 20A load output with diverse load control options lets you run DC loads, such as lighting, directly from the controller.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus a 12V kit. At 24V, the same 60A controller handles twice the solar power it could at 12V, and the system carries half the current for the same wattage, which keeps cable sizes manageable.

Versus the 800 Watt Solar Kit. The 800W kit is a 12V kit with four panels for about 2.9kWh per day. The 1200W kit adds two panels and moves to 24V for about 4.3kWh per day.

Versus a PWM kit. An MPPT controller converts excess panel voltage into charging current, so it typically harvests more energy than a PWM controller, especially with series-wired panels.

Is This Kit the Right Fit

• Battery voltage. The kit is designed for a 24V battery bank. The controller also detects 12V, 36V and 48V systems, but solar capacity limits change with voltage.
• Battery and inverter. Neither is included. The controller charges sealed, gel, flooded and lithium batteries.
• Space. Each MEGA 200 panel measures 58.7 x 26.8 x 1.2 inches and weighs 24 pounds, so plan room for six.
• Daily energy. Plan on about 4.3kWh per day with 4 peak sun hours. Actual output depends on location, season, tilt and shading.

Common Questions

Does the Kit Include a Battery or Inverter?

No. This is a solar charging kit. It includes the panels, controller, Z brackets, cables, fuse and parallel adapters. The battery and inverter are sold separately.

Can I Use This Kit on a 12V System?

Rich Solar designs this kit for 24V. On a 12V system, the 60A controller is rated for up to 800W of solar, which is less than the 1200W array.

How Are the Panels Wired?

The panels work in series or parallel. Keep each string under the controller's 150V input limit, combine strings with the Y branch adapters, and follow the controller manual.

Does the Controller Have Bluetooth?

Not built in. The RS232 port works with Rich Solar's BT-1 Bluetooth module, sold separately.
