The SunGold Power 20kW 48VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit is built around two 10000W split phase inverters and thirty-two 450W bifacial N-type panels. Every version includes four sets of PV extension cables, 300A DC breakers, 25A PV breakers, 2/0 AWG cables and Z-brackets for each panel. You choose the battery bank: six standard SG48100P server rack batteries, six self-heating SGH48100T batteries, or two PowerMax 314 outdoor batteries.
SunGold says the system will produce up to 56kWh per day with only 4 hours of sunlight. It is meant for large homes and properties with high-demand appliances such as air conditioners, well pumps, refrigerators, power tools and office equipment, and it can expand with more panels, batteries and inverters.
Each SPH10048P inverter is rated at 10,000W with a 20,000W peak and a 6HP motor load capacity. Output is pure sine wave at 120/240Vac, split phase or single phase. SunGold lists the inverter as UL 1741 by ETL for off-grid solar systems, and no-load consumption is 100W.
SunGold's wiring diagrams connect the panels as four strings of eight in series, each with its own 25A PV breaker and MPPT input. Each inverter accepts up to 11,000W of PV at up to 500Vdc open circuit, with 99.9% tracking efficiency. The 450W panels have 22.5% module efficiency, and the rear side can add up to an additional 30% energy from reflected light.
Each inverter charges at up to 200A from solar, 120A from a utility or generator and 200A in hybrid mode. The AC input accepts 90-140V single phase or 180-260V split phase.
The SG48100P and SGH48100T options each use six 51.2V 100Ah, 5.12kWh modules in an enclosed cabinet for 30.72kWh. The SG48100P supports 100A continuous charge and up to 63 units in parallel. The SGH48100T heats itself when its temperature is between -13°F and 41°F and stops at 53.6°F, so it stays ready to charge in cold weather.
The PowerMax option uses two 51.2V 314Ah batteries of 16.07kWh each for 32.14kWh. Each is IP65 rated for indoor and outdoor use, mounts on a wall or floor, and has a touch screen. SunGold rates it for 8000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge and up to 190A of charge or discharge current. A battery parallel cable is included.
SunGold lists time-slot charging and discharging and Wi-Fi app monitoring for this inverter, along with a dedicated generator connection and built-in breakers. The inverters communicate with SunGold Power batteries over CAN and RS485.
Large off-grid homes. Run central air conditioning, a well pump and a full kitchen on 20000W of split phase output.
Homes without indoor battery space. The PowerMax option can be installed outdoors, which frees up room inside.
Cold-climate properties. Choose the SGH48100T option when the battery cabinet sits in an unheated space.
Farms and shops. Each inverter's 6HP motor rating suits pumps and workshop tools.
Server rack versus PowerMax batteries. The server rack options give 30.72kWh in an indoor cabinet. The PowerMax option gives 32.14kWh in two IP65 units that can go indoors or outdoors.
Standard versus self-heating. The SG48100P allows 100A of charge current and up to 63 in parallel. The SGH48100T adds self-heating, with a 70A maximum charge current and up to 32 in parallel.
Versus buying parts separately. Each version arrives as a matched set, with its own SunGold wiring diagram.
