The SunGold Power 6.5kW 48VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit (SGM-6510M) is a complete split phase package for an off-grid cabin or shop. A 6500W 48V inverter with two MPPT inputs supplies 120/240V AC, six 370W mono black panels generate the power, and two 51.2V 100Ah wall-mounted LiFePO4 batteries store 10.24kWh.
SunGold estimates the array produces around 8.88kWh per day based on 4 hours of sun. That suits cabins, shops and similar buildings that use around 266kWh per month. A 250A busbar and two sets of 1/0 AWG cables are included for the battery connections.
The SPH6548P inverter is rated for 6500W with a 13000VA peak. It can deliver 120/240V split phase for 240V circuits or 120V single phase, and it switches over in a typical 10ms.
Two built-in MPPT controllers each accept up to 5000W and 550V open circuit, with a 150-450Vdc operating range and 99.9% tracking efficiency. The 2220W array uses a fraction of that capacity, so you can add panels later.
The SG48100M batteries are 51.2V 100Ah units rated for 7000 cycles and a calendar life of 15 years or more. Each has an LCD and a BMS that protects against overcharge, deep discharge, overloading, overheating and short circuit.
Grid or generator power can charge the batteries at up to 80A, and combined solar and AC charging reaches 140A. That can shorten generator run time on cloudy days.
The inverter supports CAN and RS485 communication with SunGold batteries. If a lithium battery goes dormant, solar or AC power can wake it back up.
Up to six inverters can run in parallel for up to 39KW of output in 120V single phase, 120/240V split phase or 208V three phase.
Off-grid cabins. SunGold describes this kit as a starter package for a complete off-grid cabin, with both 120V and 240V available.
Shops. Run 120V outlets and 240V circuits from one inverter, backed by 10.24kWh of storage.
Rural homes with generator backup. Let solar carry daily use and bring in a generator at up to 80A of charging when sun is short.
Expanding properties. Add panels to the second MPPT input, more batteries, or more inverters as loads increase.
Versus a 120V-only inverter. This inverter provides 120/240V split phase on its own, so 240V loads do not require a second unit.
Versus a single-battery setup. Two 5.12kWh batteries double the stored energy, which carries more load through the evening and overnight.
