The SunGold Power 8kW 48VDC Off-Grid Solar Kit (SGM-8K20) combines an 8000W 48V split phase solar inverter, twelve 450W bifacial N-type panels and 20.48kWh of LiFePO4 storage. You can take that storage as four SG48100P server rack batteries or as two SG48200T wall-mounted batteries.
SunGold built this kit for DIY off-grid homes and emergency backup systems that need to run a washer, refrigerator, water pump and other appliances. The system is designed to be extended later with more panels, batteries or inverters.
Both battery options store 20.48kWh at 51.2V. That reserve keeps refrigeration, lighting and other overnight loads running after the sun goes down.
The SPH8048P delivers 8000W of 120/240V split phase or single phase power with a 16000W peak. Its 5HP loaded motor rating covers pumps and compressors, and it is UL 1741 listed by ETL for off-grid solar systems.
The twelve SGN-450-BDG5 panels run as two strings of six, one per MPPT input, each with its own 25A PV breaker. Their rear side can harvest up to 30% more energy from reflected light, and the inverter accepts up to 11000W of PV for future panels.
Each 3U battery holds 5.12kWh, handles 100A of continuous charge or discharge and is rated for at least 7000 cycles. An LCD shows battery status, and the batteries talk to the inverter over RS485 or CAN.
Each SG48200T holds 10.24kWh with 9.84kWh usable, so two units cover the same capacity in fewer pieces. They mount on a wall or stand on the floor, have touch-screen displays and are rated for over 8000 cycles.
Choose utility priority, solar and utility hybrid, solar priority or inverter priority output. The time-slot function lets you set charge and discharge periods around local peak and off-peak rates.
Full-time off-grid homes. Run a refrigerator, washer and lighting, with 20.48kWh in reserve for the evening and night.
Well and water pumps. Use the 5HP motor rating to start and run a 240V pump.
Emergency backup. Keep essential circuits on during outages, with solar to recharge the batteries.
DIY solar builds. Start with a matched inverter, array and battery bank, then add to it over time.
Versus a generator as main power. Solar and stored lithium power run quietly with no fuel deliveries, while a generator can still connect for backup charging.
Versus lead-acid storage. LiFePO4 batteries with a built-in BMS and thousands of rated cycles avoid the watering and equalizing that flooded lead-acid batteries need.
Versus a single-input inverter. Two MPPT inputs let the panels split into two strings, for example on two roof faces or rows.
