The ACOPower 200W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel Is a Durable Building Block for RV, Off-Grid and Backup Solar Systems

The ACOPower 200W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel is a rigid, aluminum-framed module designed for 12 volt battery systems. It produces 200 watts at standard test conditions with an operating voltage of 20.4V, a good match for 12V batteries through either a PWM or MPPT charge controller. With about 5 hours of good sun, one panel can produce roughly 1000 watt hours per day.

Each panel has a pre-installed 12 AWG output cable with solar connectors, an IP65 junction box with bypass diodes, and pre-drilled mounting holes. You can buy it individually or in packs of up to 4 panels, and wire multiple panels in parallel for more current at 12V or in series for 24V and 48V systems and MPPT controllers.

ACOPower 200W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel Features

Monocrystalline Cells

The panel uses 36 monocrystalline cells (4 x 9), 6 inch. Module efficiency 19.5%. Monocrystalline cells generate more power per square foot than polycrystalline cells and perform well in morning, evening and cloudy-day light.

Weather-Ready Construction

Anti-reflective tempered glass and a corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum frame protect the cells for long outdoor service. ACOPower rates its panels to withstand 2400Pa of wind load and 5400Pa of snow load, plus 35 mm hail at 97 km/h.

Plug-and-Play Wiring

The 12 AWG (4 mm²) output leads are 900 mm (35 in) long and end in standard solar connectors that plug into extension cables, branch connectors and controller adapter kits.

Fits Common Mounts

Pre-drilled frame holes fit ground mounts, Z brackets, pole mounts and tilt mounts, so the panel can go on an RV roof, a shed, a ground rack or a pole.

Series or Parallel

Connect panels in parallel to keep 12V output with more current, or in series to raise voltage for MPPT controllers and 24V or 48V batteries. The maximum series fuse rating is 15A.

Real-World Applications

RV and van roofs. Charge a 12V house battery to run lights, fans, a fridge and electronics.

Cabins and sheds. Build a small off-grid power system with batteries and an inverter.

Water pumping. Supply DC pumps for livestock tanks, gardens and ponds.

Backup power. Recharge a battery bank or power station during an outage.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus two 100W panels. One 200W panel means fewer mounts and connections. Two 100W panels fit more easily around roof vents and hatches.

Versus flexible panels. ACOPower's 110W flexible panel is thinner and lighter for curved surfaces. A rigid framed panel holds up better over many years and runs cooler with airflow underneath.

Versus portable suitcase panels. Folding kits are made to set up at camp and pack away. A rigid panel is meant for permanent mounting.

Is This Solar Panel the Right Fit

  • Battery bank. 12V directly through a controller, or 24V and 48V with panels in series.
  • Charge controller. PWM for parallel 12V setups, MPPT for series strings.
  • Space. 1490 x 680 x 35 mm (58.7 x 26.8 x 1.4 in) per panel.
  • Weight. 12 kg (26.5 lbs) per panel.

This may be a good fit if

  • You want a permanent roof or ground-mounted panel
  • You are building or expanding a 12V system
  • You want to buy several matching panels at once
  • You need standard solar connectors that work with common cables

Common Questions

Do I Need a Charge Controller?

Yes. A charge controller regulates current to the battery and prevents overcharging. ACOPower recommends pairing its panels with a controller and deep cycle battery.

What Does 12V Mean on a Solar Panel?

It refers to the battery voltage the panel is designed to charge. The panel's actual operating voltage is higher than the battery so it can push current into it.

How Many Panels Can I Wire in Series?

That depends on your controller's maximum input voltage. Add up the open circuit voltage (24.3V per panel) and allow extra margin for cold weather, when panel voltage rises.

Can I Mount It on an RV Roof?

Yes. Z brackets or tilt mounts attach to the pre-drilled frame holes.
