The ACOPower ProteusX 20A Waterproof PWM Solar Charge Controller With Alligator Clips and MC4 Connectors is a 20 amp pulse width modulation controller for 12 volt and 24 volt battery systems. It detects the system voltage automatically and handles up to 360 watts of solar on a 12V battery or 720 watts on a 24V battery. Its waterproof housing means you can mount it indoors, outdoors, on a boat or on an RV without a separate enclosure.

A large blue backlit LCD shows battery voltage, charging current, amp hours, battery type, state of charge, battery temperature and error codes, and colored LEDs show charging status at a glance. Eight battery presets cover common lead-acid and lithium chemistries.

This version comes pre-wired for portable use. Solar connectors plug straight into most portable and rigid panels, alligator clips clamp onto a car or deep cycle battery, an SAE connector fits the pre-wired 2-pin solar port found on many RV sidewalls, and an inline 20 amp fuse protects the battery lead.

Eight Battery Types Including Lithium

Choose from Lithium-ion, LiFePO4, LTO, Gel, AGM, Flooded (WET), Lead Crystal and Calcium. Each preset uses its own absorption and float voltages. AGM is the default, so check your battery type before connecting solar.

Five-Stage Charging

Charging moves through soft start, bulk, absorption, equalization (for flooded and calcium batteries) and float stages. This brings deeply discharged batteries up gently, fills them completely, and then holds them at a safe maintenance voltage.

Waterproof, Solid-State Design

The ProteusX is IP65 rated and 100% solid state, with no fans or internal fuses. It supports surface or flush panel mounting.

Negative Ground

The common negative grounding design matches the way most vehicles, RVs and boats are wired.

Built-In Protection

The controller protects against reverse polarity or short circuit on the panel or battery side, reverse current from the battery to the panels at night, over-temperature and over-voltage. Night standby draw is 5mA or less, so it will not drain a parked battery.

Temperature Sensor Port

A port for an optional external battery temperature sensor allows automatic temperature compensation for batteries in hot or cold spaces.

Pre-Wired Connection Kit
