The DuroMax XP13000HX Dual Fuel Portable HX Generator is built to power your whole home during a storm or outage, including air conditioning in many homes. Its 500cc DuroMax OHV engine produces 10,500 running watts and 13,000 peak watts on gasoline, or 10,000 running and 12,500 peak watts on propane.
As part of the DuroMax HX series, the XP13000HX adds CO Alert shutdown, a front-facing fuel selector and four GFCI household outlets to a transfer switch-ready power panel. An all-metal frame, 100% copper windings with under 5% THD and a 5-year DuroMax warranty round it out.
With 87.5 amps at 120V and 43.75 amps at 240V on gasoline, the XP13000HX has the capacity for refrigerators, pumps, lights and in many homes, central air. The 14-50R outlet connects to a transfer switch or interlock for whole home backup.
Switch between gasoline and propane in seconds from the front of the generator. Propane stores for long periods without going stale. A 4-foot propane hose and regulator are included, and DuroMax suggests a 40 lb tank or larger.
A built-in sensor shuts the generator down automatically if carbon monoxide builds to unsafe levels around the unit. It adds protection, but the generator must still run outdoors, away from doors, windows and vents.
The panel includes four 5-20R GFCI household outlets, an L5-30R 120V twist-lock, an L14-30R 120/240V twist-lock and a 14-50R 50A outlet. A digital meter shows voltage, frequency and run hours, and a battery switch helps prevent battery drain in storage.
Push button electric start with recoil backup gets you running quickly. The 8.3-gallon tank delivers about 17 hours at 25% load and 8.5 hours at 50% load on gasoline, and no-load low idle saves fuel when demand drops.
An all-metal frame and power panel, 100% copper windings, an automatic voltage regulator, a cast iron sleeve and 10-inch metal-hub wheels are built for years of use.
Whole home backup. Through a transfer switch or interlock, run lights, refrigerators, freezers, well and sump pumps, a furnace and in many homes, central air.
Storm season. Switch to stored propane when gas stations are closed or out of fuel.
Job sites. Run multiple tools and compressors from 120V and 240V outlets.
RVs. Connect to 30A and 50A RV service with the right cord or adapter.
Versus the DuroMax XP13000EH. Both have the same output. The XP13000HX adds four 5-20R outlets instead of two and a 5-year warranty instead of 3 years.
Versus the DuroMax XP13000HXT. The HXT adds natural gas operation and a remote start. Choose the HX if you do not have a natural gas line.
Versus home standby generators. The XP13000HX costs far less and needs no permanent installation, but it must be set up and fueled during outages.
This may be a good fit if
Yes. DuroMax says it can power A/C, refrigerators and lights. For whole home backup, use a transfer switch or interlock and hire a licensed electrician.
About 8.5 hours at 50% load on a full tank of gasoline. Propane runtime depends on your tank size.
CO Alert shutdown, GFCI outlets, automatic low-oil shutdown and an automatic voltage regulator.
DuroMax covers the XP13000HX with a 5-year parts and technical service warranty, backed by USA-based support and service centers nationwide.
The DuroMax XP13000HX combines 13,000 peak watts, dual fuel, CO Alert and a 5-year warranty in a rugged all-metal generator. At Outbound Power, we can help you plan a backup setup for your home. If you have questions, our team is happy to help.
