The DuroMax XPX10050A is a 50-foot, 10-gauge heavy-duty extension cord from DuroMax's premium blue SJEOOW line. It carries 120V power at up to 15 amps (1,875 watts) through 100% copper wire, with a single outlet at a lighted end.
DuroMax designed this line for durability, with an oil- and chemical-resistant outer jacket and inner wire coating that stays flexible down to -58°F and usable up to 221°F. It is a strong choice for job sites, shops, generators and harsh weather.
Heavier 10-gauge copper conductors have less voltage drop than lighter cords, so tools and appliances at the far end of a 50-foot run get more of the power your outlet or generator supplies. It is the better choice for longer runs and motor loads such as saws, compressors and pumps.
A single grounded outlet at the end keeps the connector compact, so it is easy to plug into a tool, a power strip or another cord.
The lighted end glows when the cord is energized, so you can confirm power at a glance.
The SJEOOW jacket and inner insulation resist oil, chemicals and water, and the cord stays flexible from -58°F up to 221°F. That makes it easier to coil in winter and better able to handle hot surfaces, shop floors and job sites.
A grounded three-prong plug and UL certification provide peace of mind on every job.
At 50 feet, it reaches across a yard, driveway or job site while staying manageable to coil. The cord weighs 7 lbs.
Generators. Run power from a portable generator's 120V outlet to appliances, lights or tools, with enough length to keep the generator well away from your home.
Job sites. Power saws, drills, chargers and work lights where outlets are scarce.
Yard and garage. Run trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, pumps and holiday lights.
Shops and harsh environments. Oil and chemical resistance suits garages, farms and industrial settings.
Versus light-duty household cords. 14- and 16-gauge indoor cords are not built for outdoor use or high-draw tools. This heavy-duty 10-gauge cord handles both.
Versus the DuroMax yellow XPC cords. The yellow SJTW cords cost less and are rated from -40°F to 140°F. The blue SJEOOW cords add oil and chemical resistance and a wider -58°F to 221°F range.
Versus a 12-gauge cord. 10-gauge has less voltage drop over long runs but weighs more. Both are rated for 15 amps.
This may be a good fit if
The rating is set by the standard 15-amp, three-prong plug and outlets. The heavier 10-gauge wire helps reduce voltage drop over the cord's length.
Yes. Plug it into a 120V household outlet on your generator, and keep the generator outdoors, away from doors, windows and vents.
