The DuroStar DS13000MX Delivers 13,000 Peak Watts of Dual Fuel Power With CO Alert and Remote Start

The DuroStar DS13000MX Dual Fuel Portable Generator keeps your whole home running during storms and power outages while protecting your family with CO Alert. Its 500cc engine produces 10,500 running and 13,000 peak watts on gasoline, or 10,000 running and 12,500 peak watts on propane.

DuroStar is DuroMax's value line. The DS13000MX adds push button and remote start, a transfer switch-ready 50A outlet and a digital meter to a 209 lb frame, backed by a 3-year warranty.

DuroStar DS13000MX Features

Whole Home Backup Power

With 87.5 amps at 120V on gasoline, the DS13000MX has the capacity for refrigerators, pumps, lights and in many homes, air conditioning. The 14-50R outlet connects to a transfer switch or interlock.

Dual Fuel Capability

Run on gasoline or propane and switch fuels as availability changes. A propane hose and regulator are included, and DuroStar suggests a 40 lb tank or larger.

CO Alert Shutdown

A built-in sensor shuts the generator down automatically if carbon monoxide builds to unsafe levels around the unit.

Remote and Push Button Start

Start from a distance with the included remote control, or use the push button, with a recoil starter as a backup.

Power Panel

Two 5-20R GFCI household outlets, an L14-30R 30A twist-lock and a 14-50R 50A outlet cover household, RV and transfer switch connections. A digital meter shows voltage, frequency and run hours.

Long Runtime

The 8.3-gallon tank delivers about 17 hours at 25% load and 8.5 hours at 50% load on gasoline. On propane, DuroStar rates about 13 hours at 25% load and 6.5 hours at 50% load.

All Metal Construction

An all-metal frame, an automatic voltage regulator and automatic low-oil shutdown are built for years of use.

Real-World Applications

Whole home backup. Through a transfer switch or interlock, run most household circuits.

Storm season. Switch to stored propane when gasoline is scarce.

Job sites. Run tools and compressors from 120V and 240V outlets.

RVs. The 14-50R outlet connects to 50A RV service.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus the DuroStar DS13000EH. The DS13000EH is CARB certified for California and adds an L5-30R and 12V outlet. The DS13000MX adds remote start.

Versus the DuroStar DS13000MXT. The MXT adds natural gas operation and a battery tender.

Versus the DuroMax XP13000HX. The XP13000HX adds four 5-20R outlets and a 5-year warranty.

Is the DS13000MX the Right Fit
