The Faraday Defense T.R.A.P AC Plug Safeguards Your Generator Or Inverter Against EMP And Lightning Strikes

The Faraday Defense T.R.A.P. AC Transient Voltage Suppression AC Plug is your essential defense for protecting sensitive electronics, inverters, and portable generators from unpredictable, damaging high-voltage spikes.

Designed to plug seamlessly into any three-prong AC receptacle, this compact yet powerful device suppresses voltage transients up to an impressive 5,000 watts. This product is ideal for anyone with an inverter, generator, or vehicle-mounted system. It ensures peace of mind against potential damages caused by lightning strikes, EMPs, or other sudden surges in voltage, shielding your equipment and investments.

With a Faraday Defense T.R.A.P. AC Plug, you can ensure consistent, reliable protection, whether for outdoor adventures or in unpredictable weather conditions. Engineered for users who understand the risks posed by high-voltage transients, this device keeps crucial equipment safe, so you’re always prepared.

With the compact design of the T.R.A.P.-AC, installation is simple. Just plug it into your inverter or portable generator's AC outlet for immediate protection. By intercepting transient energy directly at the source, it ensures that sensitive circuits are shielded from harm, preserving the lifespan of your device. And because of its design, multiple T.R.A.P. devices can be used for enhanced coverage across your setup, meaning comprehensive protection at all points of entry for transient energy.

Frequently-Asked Questions

What will a T.R.A.P. devices protect against?

The T.R.A.P. is designed to guard against very fast transients from any source. This includes radiated energy from a nearby lightning strike or an overhead electromagnetic pulse (EMP).

How can the T.R.A.P. devices be effective against an EMP when they’re so small?

The danger to inverters and portable generators from an EMP is the high voltage that is introduced on the cables from E1 and E2. Those transient voltages are extremely brief in time (from nanoseconds to microseconds) and can therefore be suppressed using small devices. This is distinctly different than the case with homes, which would also experience a powerful E1 current surge from the power grid.

Can you use more than one T.R.A.P. in a generator or inverter?

Absolutely. Putting energy “traps” at multiple points in your generator or inverter helps to better shunt away the unwanted energy.

Does the T.R.A.P.-AC have an outlet on the back side?

No. The back of the T.R.A.P.-AC is enclosed. It does not pass power through it.
