The Generac 200A Automatic Transfer Switch (model RXSW200A3) is a service entrance rated switch for a 120/240V single-phase home. When utility power fails, it moves your home's loads from the utility to your standby generator automatically. It is Generac's Smart Switch, so it includes the Smart A/C Module for load management.

It is designed for single-phase generators that use an Evolution or Nexus controller. Because it is service entrance rated, it can be installed as the service equipment at the home, with the utility service circuit breaker built in. A Generac dealer or licensed electrician must install it.

Service Entrance Rated for a Single Point of Connection

The switch is rated as service equipment and includes a utility service circuit breaker. You can install it where the utility service enters the home, or install it without using it as service equipment. It is UL listed, and its 200A rating fits a 200A home service.

Smart A/C Module Manages Up to 4 HVAC Loads

The Smart A/C Module manages up to 4 HVAC loads (24 VAC controlled) with no additional hardware. If generator frequency drops under load, the module sheds those loads, then brings them back on a timed schedule so the generator is not overloaded. Recovery times run from 5 minutes to 5 minutes 45 seconds, based on priority.

Room to Add Up to 8 More Loads

If you want to control more than your air conditioners, you can add up to 8 Smart Management Modules, which are sold separately. Each one controls an individual load, so you can decide what runs first when the generator is carrying the house.

NEMA 3R Aluminum Enclosure Rated for Outdoor Mounting

The enclosure is NEMA/UL Type 3R aluminum with a powder-coat finish. It mounts vertically on a wall, inside or outside, and measures 26.75 in high, 10.5 in wide and 6.3 in deep. It weighs 39 lb.

22,000 AIC Withstand Rating

The 200A switch is rated for 22,000 amps of available fault current at 240V when protected as Generac describes. Confirm it fits the available fault current at your service before you order.

Manual Operation Without Power

The transfer switch can be operated manually without power applied. A manual operating handle and a storage bracket for it come in the loose parts bag, so you have a backup if you ever need to move the switch by hand.

Whole-Home Backup. Pair the switch with a compatible single-phase standby generator. When the utility drops out, the generator starts and the switch transfers your loads for you.
