The Renogy 800 Watt 12V/24V Premium Solar Kit Pairs 8 N-Type Panels With a Rover 60A MPPT Controller for Serious Off-Grid Power

The Renogy 800 Watt 12V/24V Premium Solar Kit with Rover 60A Charge Controller is a complete solar system for RVs, cabins, barns, boats and backup power. It includes 8 Renogy 16BB N-type 100W panels, a Rover Li 60A MPPT charge controller, a BT-1 Bluetooth module, a 20-foot adaptor kit, 4 AWG battery tray and fuse cables, a 20A in-line fuse and 60A ANL fuse, Y branch connectors and Z-bracket mounts for every panel.

Renogy estimates an average of 3.5 to 4kWh of electricity per day based on 5 hours of direct sunlight. That is enough to offset larger loads such as a TV, refrigerator, microwave, lights and laptops through an inverter. Choose the standard kit, or add a Renogy ONE Core for smart energy tracking with intuitive visuals and real-time data.

Renogy 800W Premium Solar Kit Features

8 x 16BB N-Type 100W Panels

N-type cells with 16 busbars deliver high efficiency, better heat tolerance and low degradation. Each panel measures 34.1 x 22.8 x 1.2 inches and weighs 13 lbs, so the array is easy to handle and fit around roof obstacles.

Rover Li 60A MPPT Controller

The Rover handles 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V battery banks, accepts up to 150V of solar input and supports up to 800W at 12V or 1,600W at 24V. MPPT tracking harvests more energy than PWM controllers, and built-in protection covers the whole system.

Bluetooth and Optional ONE Core

The included BT-1 module connects the Rover to the Renogy app for real-time monitoring and control from up to 82 feet away. The ONE Core option adds a dedicated hub that tracks energy generation and consumption.

Heavy-Gauge Wiring and Fusing

8-foot 4 AWG tray cables and a 2-foot 4 AWG ANL fuse cable handle high charge currents, while the 60A ANL fuse and 20A in-line PV fuse protect the battery and array.

Expandable

The kit already reaches the Rover's 800W limit on a 12V battery. Switch to a 24V battery bank to expand up to 1,600W of solar.

Real-World Applications

Full-time RVs. Keep a large house battery bank charged for extended boondocking.

Cabins and tiny homes. Build a reliable off-grid system for seasonal or full-time use.

Barns, yards and greenhouses. Power water pumps, lighting and remote equipment.

Boats and emergency backup. Charge batteries for marine loads or home outages.

How It Compares to Common Alternatives

Versus 400W kits. This kit produces about twice the daily energy and uses a larger 60A controller with 24V and 48V capability.

Versus PWM kits. PWM controllers cannot take advantage of series wiring and waste some panel voltage. The Rover's MPPT design makes large arrays practical.

Versus generators. Solar runs silently with no fuel, oil changes or quiet-hour restrictions.

Is This Kit the Right Fit

  • Battery. You will need a 12V or 24V battery bank. The kit does not include one. A 24V bank lets the Rover use more panel power.
  • Roof or ground space. 8 panels at 34.1 x 22.8 inches each need significant roof area or a ground mount.
  • AC loads. Add an inverter to run 120V appliances.
  • Wiring. Plan series and parallel strings to stay within the Rover's 150V input limit with cold-weather margin.

This may be a good fit if

  • You need 3.5 to 4kWh of solar energy per day
  • You want a complete kit with MPPT, Bluetooth, cables and fuses
  • You run a 12V or 24V battery bank
  • You want smart energy monitoring with ONE Core

Common Questions

Can I Add More Panels?

On a 12V battery the 800W array is already at the Rover's limit. With a 24V battery bank you can expand up to 1,600W.

Do I Need an Inverter?

Yes, if you want to run household appliances. An inverter converts DC battery power to 120V AC.

What Does the Renogy ONE Core Add?

ONE Core is a monitoring hub that tracks energy generation and consumption with real-time data and visuals, helping you manage off-grid power.
