The Renogy ONE Core Shows Your Battery and Solar Data on a 4 in Touch Screen and on Your Phone
The Renogy ONE Core is a monitoring and control hub for Renogy power systems. It has a 4 in (480 x 480p) touch screen and connects by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee 3.0, RS-485 and CAN. It shows energy data on the screen and in the Renogy app, and in the Renogy ONE Portal for remote monitoring.
It's made for RV and off-grid owners who run Renogy batteries, charge controllers, chargers and inverters and want one place to watch them. It can also act as a smart home hub for Zigbee smart accessories.
Renogy ONE Core Features
Local and Remote Energy Monitoring
See energy data on the built-in screen or in the Renogy app. Renogy says the ONE Connect 2.0 technology also supports remote monitoring through the Renogy ONE Portal, and the ONE Core stores data locally for 30 days. Renogy's image notes that the ONE Portal is for subscribers.
Many Ways to Connect Devices
It can connect to Renogy Bluetooth, Bluetooth Mesh and Zigbee devices at the same time. Wired devices connect through the communication port by RS-485 or CAN. Renogy's FAQ says it supports RV-C communication on this G3 model. Renogy's manual lists the compatible Renogy batteries, charge controllers, chargers and inverters, some with built-in Bluetooth and some through a BT-1 or BT-2 module.
Smart Home Hub for Zigbee Accessories
Renogy lists a Smart Plug, Motion Sensor, Door and Window Sensor and Smart Relay for use with the ONE Core. Scenes you set up are saved in the ONE Core, so Renogy says they keep working when Wi-Fi is down. Renogy does not guarantee third-party Zigbee 3.0 devices.
Flush Mount With a Built-In Bubble Level
The ONE Core mounts flush in a 55 mm (2.17 in) hole, and a bubble level in the mounting base helps you set it straight. It can also sit on a table when powered through the Type-C port.
Wide Power Input and Low Draw
Power it from 8V to 35V DC through the power port or 5V DC through Type-C. At 12V it uses 1.9 W with the screen at 0% brightness and Wi-Fi on, and 3.2 W at 100%.
Over-the-Air Updates
Renogy says the ONE Core gets new features and improvements through over-the-air updates.
Real-World Applications
RV power at a glance. Check the battery, controller and charger readings on the screen.
Remote checks. Look in on a parked rig through the Renogy ONE Portal.
Simple automation. Add a Zigbee Smart Plug or Door and Window Sensor and build scenes.
Practical Comparison
Renogy ONE Core Versus a Separate Monitor for Each Device
Each device with its own display or app means checking several places. The ONE Core brings the readings from supported devices together on one screen and in one app.
Wired Versus Wireless Connections
Bluetooth devices need no communication wiring. RS-485 devices connect by cable of no more than 6 m (19.6 ft). Only one wired port exists, so RS-485 and CAN cannot both be wired at once. Renogy says to connect RS-485 through a BT-2 module if you need both.
Buyer Guidance
RV Leveling Is Not Available in the U.S.
Renogy's page mentions an RV leveling assistant. Renogy's user manual says the RV leveling function is only available in regions outside the U.S., so do not buy the ONE Core for leveling.
Check Compatibility and Setup
It does not support WPA3 Wi-Fi, but it does support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. It does not include a shunt; Renogy says it works with the Battery Shunt 300. It monitors devices rated at 12V DC or 24V DC. Install it indoors, away from direct sunlight, and keep it at least 200 mm (7.9 in) from metal objects for good wireless range.
This May Be A Good Fit If
- You run Renogy batteries, controllers, chargers or inverters
- You want one screen for your 12V or 24V system
- You want Zigbee smart plugs or sensors in your RV
Common Questions
