The Renogy Solar Panel Mounting Z Bracket Set of 4 is a kit of four aluminum Z brackets for mounting a single rigid solar panel. One set holds one panel, one bracket at each corner. Renogy designed it for off-grid installations.

It is made for RV roofs and non-inhabited buildings such as sheds or garages. It also suits a user-made structure such as a wooden frame. You can choose 1, 2 or 4 sets.

Four Z Brackets Per Set

Each bracket fastens to the surface through two holes. Renogy's photo lists the bracket at 3.937 in long, with a 1.18 in base and a 1.220 in height.

Lightweight Aluminum

Renogy lists lightweight, corrosion-free aluminum construction. The brackets come pre-assembled with bolts and washers.

Fasteners Included

Each set has M6 stainless steel bolts, split lock washers, flat washers and hex nuts for the panel frame. It also has #10 x 1¼ in self-drilling cap screws with plastic retaining rings for the mounting surface.

One Set Per Panel

Renogy recommends one set for a single solar panel and does not recommend this product for a single panel over 200 watts.

Buyer Guidance

Panel Limits

Renogy's manual lists many Renogy panels as compatible, including the RNG-50D and RNG-100D. The RNG-300D, RNG-270P and RNG-320P need 2 bracket sets, for 8 brackets per panel. For other makers' panels the frame must be aluminum alloy and the panel weight must not exceed 88 lb (40 kg), or 22 lb (10 kg) per bracket. Add brackets for mid-span support if the gap between brackets along an edge exceeds 39 in (1 m).

Installation Notes

Renogy says installation should be done by a professional contractor to avoid damage from improper sealing. Fasten into a structural element such as a rafter or stud and seal around the brackets and screws. Renogy does not recommend shingle roofs, and the system does not provide compliance with residential structural codes.
